Female Boko Haram Suicide Bomber Strikes In Gombe

The persons lost their lives on Sunday in Gombe, capital of Gombe State, as a female gang member of the deadly Boko Haram sect detonated an explosive device in the city prematurely before reaching the target.

According to a top security source in the state, the dead were a soldier and the suicide bomber — a woman — who was “scattered” by the blast due to its proximity to her body.
“The explosion occurred at about 11am along Military Quarter Guard along Biu Road in Gombe,” said the security source. “The woman had the explosive in her bag, but the thing went off prematurely. She was scattered by the explosion. Unluckily, she got a soldier as well.”

The source further told TheCable that although the woman hadn’t arrived her destination when the bomb went off, chances were high that the military quarters in Gombe State was her target. It is believed that the lady is one of the few woman that have been recruited by the dreaded sect.

The vicinity of the incident is now a no-go-area, especially for civilians.
