Oprah Winfrey Tells How She Was Raped By A Cousin At 9, Losing Her Baby At 14
Oprah Winfrey has revealed the name she chose for the premature baby boy she lost when she was just 14 years old. She also spoke of being raped by a cousin at the age of 9.
The 61 year old former talk show host opened up about her painful past when speaking at the Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne, Australia, according to news.com.au.
"I did an interview with a reporter before I came to Australia and she said you should name the baby son who died," "So I have named him, I had a little boy named Canaan," I did have a son. And I named him Canaan because Canaan means new land, new life."
Winfrey spoke movingly about the sexual abuse she suffered as a young girl, which resulted in the pregnancy.
"I was raped at 9 years old by a cousin, then again by another family member, and another family member,"
Winfrey reportedly said, adding that she tried to hide her pregnancy at 14 because she felt so much "pain and shame."
"I took to my bed and cried for three days. I felt devastated. Wounded. Betrayed. How could this person do this to me.I imagined that every person on the street was going to point their finger at me and scream, 'Pregnant at 14, you wicked girl ... expelled!' "
Winfrey gave birth as a teen to her son, who died in the hospital weeks later.
Man stamps on pregnant girlfriend’s stomach after she refused to abort pregnancy
A 22 year old teaching assistant, Kevin Wilson recently stamped on the stomach of his heavily pregnant 22 year old ex-girlfriend, Malorie Bantala to kill their unborn child which she refused to abort.
UK Mirror reports that he was allegedly angry that she had ignored his pleas to get rid of the baby so he recruited a teenager to help him beat the foetus to death.
Malorie was eight months pregnant when Wilson and the youth allegedly ambushed her just yards from home in Peckham, south east London in June.
Disguised in motorcycle helmets, they deliberately targeted her stomach, leaving the shop assistant with life-threatening injuries.
The baby boy was delivered stillborn by emergency Caesarean section at 32 weeks.
When emergency services arrived, she told police that her child’s father’s was responsible, saying: “He doesn’t want the baby.”
Malorie suffered broken bones in the hand she had used to try to shield her baby from the onslaught.
The court heart the pair slept together in November last year after staying friends following a short period in a relationship.
The following month, she told him she was pregnant and Wilson reacted by saying he was not ready to be a father. And when told she had decided to keep the baby, he cut her off but rang back to ask: “Why are you doing this to me?”
Wilson went on to arrange a visit to an abortion clinic but became angry when she still refused to end the pregnancy, accusing her of being “selfish”, the jury was told.
Wilson and a 17-year-old youth who cannot be named for legal reasons, are accused of causing grievous bodily harm to Malorie and child destruction.

57-year Old Man Dies Aboard Arik Air’s Owerri-Lagos Flight
A 57-year-old man, Albert Nnadi, was on Wednesday confirmed dead on board an Arik Air flight from Owerri to Lagos.
The passenger was said to have been found dead at the point when passengers were disembarking the flight at the Murtala Muhammed Domestic Airport Terminal One, Lagos.
The deceased, who was accompanied by one of his relatives, identified as Damien Nwachkwu, was said to be traveling to Lagos to seek medical assistance on obesity.
The body of the man has been deposited in the mortuary by the Police, while investigation into the immediate cause of death is ongoing

Dasuki was arrested on Tuesday by the Department of State Services. He was transferred to the EFCC.
An EFCC source said: “When Dasuki was brought in, he initially refused to write any statement, alleging that he had been subjected to media trial. I think the ex-NSA decided not to open up based on the advice of his lawyers that he should leave everything for the open court.
“The EFCC operatives, however, obliged Dasuki a copy of the statement by a former Director of Finance in the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA), Shaibu Salisu in which the latter made some implicating statements.
“Dasuki, who was shocked by Salisu’s confessions, repeatedly asked: ‘You mean Salisu wrote all these! You mean he said these! Give me a pen and paper’.
“Thereafter, Dasuki decided to open a can of worms. He gave a long list of PDP chieftains who collected money from the Office of the NSA.
"The disclosures of the ex-Director of Finance in ONSA have assisted greatly in getting to the bottom of the armsgate. So, the investigation is still on. We will certainly arrest more suspects soon.”
The EFCC is said to be mindful of a situation in which the high-profile suspects will rush to court to seek the enforcement of their fundamental rights and truncate the investigation.

Snake Invades Prayer House, Bites Worshiper to Death
A mysterious snake on Tuesday, attacked a prayer and deliverance house in Njaba area of Imo State and bite a man undergoing deliverance. The victim, Mr. Hyginus Okwara was receiving spiritual healing from the prayer house when a snake bite him to death.
The deliverance was still ongoing when Okwara, who allegedly had a little problem and needed a spiritual cleansing beckoned on his wife to lead him outside to urinate. Immediately they stepped outside, he complained of a painful bite on his leg.
"This warranted his wife to immediately flash her torchlight around the place but nothing was found. And for a second time, my brother also complained again about another stinging bite on his left leg, a development that led his wife to alert the female owner of the prayer house", his brother narrated.
It was gathered that when the woman came out, she prayed and commanded whatever that bit the man to surface and subsequently, a snake of about 10 feet long emerged and the prophetess quickly killed. Shortly after the snake had died, the victim, Mr. Okwara was said to have given up the ghost.

- We also need to pass a Bill in Nigeria to the effect that anyone who falsely declare his/her assets or took bribe from CBN and other other government agency should be sent to the FIRING SQUAD!

Vigilant troops of 7 Division Garrison providing security at Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) Camp, Dalori in Maiduguri Metropolitan Council, Borno State yesterday Tuesday afternoon apprehended an 11-year-old boy, Master Usman Modu Tella, a potential suicide bomber. He is suspect number 82 on the poster containing the photographs of 100 wanted suspected Boko Haram terrorists released by the Nigerian Army.
The boy also pointed out one other Boko Haram senior member, Alhaji Kerewu Abubakar at the camp. It will be recalled that due to the concerted efforts of the military quite a number of towns and villages hitherto held by the Boko Haram terrorists were liberated, this brought about an unprecedented influx of IDPs to the camp which the terrorists took advantage and infiltrate in order to wreck more havoc among the society.
The case of these suspects clearly indicated this point hence the need for proper screening of all IDPs with a view to ascertain their true identity. The apprehension of the suspects is a boost to the fight against terrorism and insurgency in that they were assisting with investigation that would lead to the arrest of more suspected terrorists in the camp and elsewhere.
