I'm not a Badoo member-Teacher arrested during raid cries out

Okewunmi Omotoyosi Daniel, who was, weekend, arrested alongside suspected members of the notorious Badoo boys during a joint raid by the Police, O’odua Peoples Congress, OPC, and members of a vigilante group in Ikorodu area of Lagos, has said that he is not a member of the dreaded cult.

Daniel’s face appeared in a photograph taken by the Police during the weekend raid.

However, Daniel, who said he is a teacher, visited Vanguard’s corporate headquarters yesterday, noting that he was later released after he convinced the Police of his innocence. Narrating his ordeal, Daniel said:

“At about 2p.m. on Saturday, I went in the company of my wife and our nine-month-old baby to a salon close to my house at Abuja Bus Stop, Ikorodu, to have a hair cut. ‘’While waiting for my turn, our baby started crying and I took him to the section where my wife was also having her hair done.
“Later, we heard a word of command from the community vigilante known as Onyabo, ordering everyone to stand up. Members of the Onyabo said that our attention was needed by the Commissioner of Police outside. “We were the first set of people arrested. Miscreants led the Police to where the raids were carried out.
After the arrest, we were taken into the Black Maria without an opportunity to explain ourselves. The Onyabo members (community guards) even collected telephones of those arrested. “They even chased people standing on their own at Owode Roundabout, Imota and Ita-Maga, and apprehended a man who was about entering a Mosque to pray.
“We were taken in a parked Black Maria to the Task Force office at Oshodi, where we were detained. That was where they started taking shots of us, as if we were Badoo members. “
Among those arrested were eight civil servants. The cell did not even contain us. I had to stand all through. “Had my wife and dad not brought the documents, I am sure that I would have still been detained.
 My release’
“Next day (Sunday), my wife and my father came with all my documents that proved that I am a civil servant. In fact, I am a teacher at Oluwalogbon Primary School, Ketu. After showing them all my documents, they released me at about 11p.m. “But I woke up today (Monday) to be confronted with my picture on the front page of your newspaper. See (displaying his wife’s phone) my wife’s phone has a picture of me while being ushered out of the saloon I went to.
“I have received several calls from friends and relatives, who saw my picture in the newspaper, asking what happened. I couldn’t go to work today. I only contacted the school to hint them of the development so I can come here and explain my side of the story, so that my image can be redeemed.
 Evidence of innocence
“These are my documents (displaying the documents he showed to the Police). I was among the teachers recruited last year. This is my letter of appointment, dated March 2016. “My deployment letter is also with me; it was dated April 1, and I also have my letter of assumption of office dated October 7. Here are my pay slips as well. “I am here to express my displeasure over the whole exercise. Even if they wanted to do such thing, they could have gone to joints. Why would the Nigeria Police allow hooligans to raid the society? “Badoo boys can never be caught in the day time. Residents are even not ready to hand them over if they are caught, but rather prefer to carry out immediate justice.”

Court Fines Patience Jonathan For Withdrawing Suit Against EFCC

Justice S. Seidu of a Federal High Court sitting in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, has imposed a fine of N50,000 (Fifty Thousand Naira only) on former First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan, for withdrawing a suit instituted against the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.

Jonathan, in the suit, sought an order of the court for the "enforcement of her fundamental human rights to own property, fair hearing, human dignity, private and family life and freedom from discrimination".

In a defence led by I. A. Adedipe, SAN, she prayed the court to retrain the EFCC from encroaching on those "rights". Prosecution counsel, Kayode Oni, faulted Jonathan on her prayers before the court, arguing that her suit was an abuse of court processes.

At the resumption of hearing on the matter on Monday, one of the defence counsels, Sammie Somiari, addressed the court on a notice of discontinuance of the suit, saying that he had an instruction of his client to discontinue the matter.
He said that an application had been filed before the court to that effect.

Counsel to the EFCC submitted that Mrs. Jonathan has a right of discontinuance but pressed for a charge of N500,000( Five Hundred Thousand Naira only) as costs of filing processes in response to the suit.
Justice Seidu struck out the suit and awarded a cost of N50,000 (Fifty Thousand Naira only) as a fine against Jonathan.
Dame Patience Jonathan instituted the suit against the EFCC in February, 2017.

It's none of your business how my house looks- Thin Tall Tony fires back over dirty house comments

Controversial Big Brother Naija contestant ,  Thin Tall Tony has fired back at trolls who called his house dirty after he posted a video yesterday .In a length post,he wrote
It's a good thing I have a picture like this...this will be the 2nd time in a long while I will be responding to comments I believe don't hold water.
It is strange and funny at the same time, how the internet shows us the power to believe we can jump into the lives of people living all over the world because as they say! We have a right to our own opinion.

Earlier today at about 5am, my son woke me up and wanted to drink water after that we ended up playing and started our day with biscuits, coke and water...we have been on for about an hour plus before my daughter joined...yes to all watchers and people observing! I said to myself, let's skip church and spend time with my family just for a day...its none of your business how my house looks but too bad you have made it your primary goal to also skip church and instead of spending time with your family like me!

You jumped on social media and began acting like an I-REPORTER OF CNN or is it AJAZEERA?...if you have children and knowing fully well how they are! You will understand to take things out of the way so they don't get hurt (but to everyone who spoke otherwise, I guess you don't understand)
My children could be in school but I am guessing again you will have to find out yourself, will you not? I bet you are on your way to ikorodu to locate my house or even start a one on one question and answer in the neighbourhood...am I wrong?

This same house will be hosting at least 20persons to come see the games tonight of the final of the confederation cup, with food and ps3 (for those wey go say "see as him b!" Na ordinary ps3 him get) at least na my own...in a nut shell and I owe nobody any reason to explain how much my rent is...if you don't like this channel, please change it #simple #thintalltony #anticipate #changebeginswithme #anothercalabarboy #madeinnigeria #madlove

Wives of ISIS killers moan about husbands spending too much on sex slaves' makeup

ISIS militants' jealous wives have complained their extremist husbands are lavishing gifts on sex slaves and giving the captive women too much affection.

The partners, dubbed the "desperate housewives of Raqqa", were more concerned about how much their husbands spent on lipstick for their slaves than their barbaric acts of terror like beheadings.

One runaway wife said the jihadists were buying the "best" make-up and clothes for their slaves, creating "tension" between the women,The NewYork Times reported.

She also told how her husband and other extremists used a mobile phone app to sell their slaves, with virgins going for as much as $10,000.
Journalist Jenan Moussa spoke to runaway ISIS wives at a refugee camp in Ayn Issa, Syria, after they escaped the city of Raqqa.

Most of the women at the camp are foreign-born and desperate to return home, The Times reported.

One Lebanese wife said some of the other wives divorced their husbands due to the way they treated their slaves. She said:
"They were spending too much on the sex slaves, buying them the best make-up, clothes and accessories.""They were sharing photos of the sex slaves with the best make-up and clothes, and asking $2,000 for this one, $3,000 for that one. A virgin cost $10,000.”

I Used To Be A Chin- Chin Seller - Waje

Singer Waje needs little or no introduction.

The sonorous singer, in a new interview with Saturday Beats, opened up about her life before the fame.
According to the Mountain crooner:

“I don’t like cooking but I love to bake and I did that for a while with my friend Ijeoma Uzodima. We used to have this chin chin company and we used to sell everything in our stock. I remember that the magistrates in Onitsha at the time used to order from us and we used to sell it in a small can for about N600. We would cut 50kg chin chin for three days and my back would be paining me. I probably would have continued with that if I was not a singer. Ijeoma who is my very good friend was actually the one who used to push me,” she said.
On how much she was paid for her first performance:

The day she was given N300,000, she wanted to go crazy. Waje said, “When I started my career, it was someone that drew my attention that I could make money from music. I remember the first time I sang in my school in UNN, I was wearing a red dress and I sang Whitney Houston’s ‘I will always love you.’ It was just my voice and there was no instrumental, the crowd went crazy. I think after my performance, they gave me about N500. That was enough for a week in school. I remember the first time I earned N300,000, it was from Zain Mobile Telecomms. They had an end of the year party in Enugu and they asked me to come and perform. When I got the money, I went haywire. I am the first in my family, so the money really helped to stabilise a few things.”

I Am Not Talking About My Marriage Issues - Tonto Dikeh

Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh, earlier this week made many headlines as new that her family had paid back the bride price Churchill family brought was all over the internet.

The news gained ground when the actress shared a video of herself joyful, prompting many to assume she was celebrating the end of her marriage.

Tonto in a new interview with Saturday Beats, have weighed in on the news, but declining to speak on her marriage crisis.
In her words:

“I am not going to answer any personal questions; I think I am done with that. When I am ready to grant interview I would give constructive interviews.”
On current projects and acting:

“I have been concentrating so much on my foundation lately and I would keep that going because a lot of people out there need us and I have realised that the government cannot do it alone, neither can I nor other foundations. I would be concentrating on helping the underprivileged and help them get back to the society which made me who I am today. I have plans to go back to the movie industry. I will be on set very soon with great artistes and I cannot wait to do that. I will not feature in movies as I used to; instead I could be in a few movies per year. I will produce my movies as well as work with other people who have good scripts.
“I focused on women and children. Being a mother has made me very passionate about my own child. I would not treat any child less than I would treat my own child. Watching my child grow, go to school and do everything that he does makes my heart ache to see that some people cannot afford the basic things of life that they require and that is why I decided to focus on children. My son gave me a new religion to worship and take care of children,” she said.
