So Jonathan Is Yet To Congratulate Sanusi As Emir of Kano

About 48 hours after the emergence of Sanusi Lamido Sanusi as the REAL Emir of Kano, President Goodluck Jonathan has yet to congratulate him on his emergence as the usual protocol demands.

Jonathan’s plan to travel to Kano to pay condolence to the family of the late Emir and members of the emirate on Monday was put off abruptly. Sources say the trip was aborted because of Sanusi’s emergence.

The combination of Sanusi as Emir and Governor Kwankwaso, who defected from PDP to APC would indeed spell doom for Jonathan’s electoral misfortune in Northern Nigeria in 2015 and he is very angry.
Sanusi's emergence, according to sources, is seen in the Presidency as a big blow to Jonathan’s fortune in 2015 and this could mean that Jonathan can't win the Presidential election.

It was not clear at press time if the President would be ready to go and pay homage to the new emir in Kano as is often the practice.

There has been no love lost between Jonathan and the new Emir since the President suspended him from office as the CBN governor on February 20. In suspending Sanusi, Jonathan had said in a statement that he found out that Sanusi’s tenure at the CBN had been characterised by alleged acts of financial recklessness and misconduct, which the Presidency said was inconsistent with the administration’s vision.

Sanusi is still contesting his suspension and his probe in court as of the time of his emergence as the Emir.
