The All Progressives Congress has declared ex-Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode persona non grata, as the leading opposition party stated categorically that he’s not a recognised member of the party.
“Femi Fani-Kayode is not a senior member of our party [APC]. Where did he register as a member of the APC and what qualifies him to be a senior member of my party?
“People came to join our party and in politics, you don’t push everybody away. He is a former Minister and has what I can call name recognition, and when he came to associate with our party, all well and good. But what role or specific office was he given? Which meeting of the organ of the party has he ever attended?
“Fani-Kayode has access to many people; he has access to me, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu or perhaps even General Muhammadu Buhari or Bisi Akande, but that does not make him a senior member of the party.”
According to APC, the controversial politician who paraded himself as a member of the party does not have any stake and neither is he recognized to be given any role in the party, both at the state or national level.
The interim National Publicity of APC, Lai Mohammed made this clarification, adding that the party cannot take any disciplinary action against someone who is not even regarded as their member.
