The body of the man who died from Ebola Virus Disease in Lagos, Nigeria on Friday, has been cremated and it was witnessed by officials of the Lagos Sate Ministry of Health and the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).
The World Health Organisation notes that cremation is ideal for safe disposal of bodies of persons who die during outbreaks of highly infectious diseases including Ebola in order to minimise further transmission.
