Lagos-Based TVC Correspondent Kidnapped In Osun State

The desperation to win Osun State election has attained a frightening dimension. Ayodeji Morakinyo, an Ondo State correspondent of Lagos-based Television Continental, TVC, has been kidnapped. The journalist was abducted on Thursday afternoon in Osogbo, Osun State after covering a news rally in the state capital which does not favour the PDP.

The fierce reporter was among crops of journalists sent to monitor the coming election in Osun State, set for Saturday. Sources in the area told SaharaReporters that his abductors were armed with guns and dressed in police uniforms, and swiftly whisked him away.

It is highly believed that Ayodeji's kidnap is politically motivated by the PDP...

His wife Aderoke told SaharaReporters in Akure, that the abductors have not yet made any contact with the family members.
"[I] have been trying his numbers, they are not going through. Please, help me. He told me they called him from his office in Lagos to move down to Osun State for Saturday's election," she said.
Attempts to reach him by phone were unsuccessful.
