South African Paralympian athlete, Oscar Pistorius, jailed for killing his girlfriend, will be released under correctional supervision next Tuesday, October 20. He will be released from prison to house arrest, South Africa parole board says.
In 2014 he was sentenced to five years in jail for killing his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp. He had been found guilty of culpable homicide - a charge equivalent to manslaughter.
Prosecutors had accused Pistorius of murder but he said he shot her through the bathroom door by accident, mistaking her for an intruder.
