Female Students Went to Night Club But Ended Up In A Forest
It was a Friday night. I was looking forward to spending the weekend at my best friend, Funmi’s place. She stays outside the school premises while I stay inside the school hostel. As I braced up to get ready for another exciting weekend, little did I know that fate had a bitter experience wrapped up for me.
Funmi has been my friend since 100 level. We are now in 300 level but my love for her has not in any way diminished. What with her smartness, fun-loving nature and above all, her exceptional brilliance. Although a bit of a spoilt kid, I totally love every bit of her because she inspires me.
"How far? You never pack your bag since? I don tire o, I wan dey go...
I can’t wait to get home, eat and fall into my bed," Funmi said, looking at me with respite that day.
I had packed my bag already but was looking for my ‘early morning personal effects’ like toothbrush, sponge, towel and all. I had used them in the morning, but couldn’t put them in the bag because I needed them to be dry.
It was the second time I would be spending the weekend at her place and the first experience was great. She had told me this time around, her rich boyfriend would be taking us out, to a club probably.
No sooner had we gotten to her place than her boyfriend, Richards, buzzed her on phone. I didn’t hear what he said but from her responses, he was checking on her and also asking if we were prepared for the night’s outing. I was expectant and eager.
When we got to the club, I was all smiles. I was in the mood even before we started out. My spirit was high. Richards was seated afar, gulping bottles of spirit while we were on the dance floor digging it.
I enjoyed myself till it was time for us to head home. I didn’t know I was in for some scenes I had only witnessed in Nigerian movies.
“I told you to always lock the car’s door slowly! Do you want to break it apart?”, Richard faced Funmi as she hurriedly jammed the front door of the jeep. I wondered why Richards, who was loving, subtle and caring some hours ago, was talking as if he does not care.
“Calm down nah, wetin dey do you? Abi no be this same jeep? It’s my brother’s toy at home…please stop ranting!” Funmi replied her boyfriend, with the plainest of all facial expressions…(or so I supposed).
This obviously didn’t go down well with Richard who I later noticed was drunk to the stupor. We had already moved past major highways and we were driving along a road with bushes on our sides and Richards, who was obviously pissed from the last statement from his girlfriend, halted the car in the middle of the road.
Before we girls could finish wondering what he was up to, Richards was already by the other side of the car, dragging down Funmi from his car by the bush!
I was speechless. I could not say a word! What came to my mind like a flash was already happening right in front of me! Funmi was still forming. She was like “ehn, what’s wrong with you? Do you want to leave us in this bush? I trust you!”
Before I could pretend as if I was not part of the drama happening right in front of me, Richard looked at me at the back side and didn’t utter a word before I knew I had to go down. I stood beside Funmi as she ranted, while her boyfriend who she thought could not leave us in the jungle, zoomed off. He was dead drunk, his driving too was abnormal.
I stood at the side of the road, watched the jeep’s rear light disappear into the dark, until I could not catch a glimpse of it anymore.
We didn’t stand too long when we heard a whistle blowing. At first, it sounded like that of a vigilante but who could have been watching over a bush?
An impending danger dawned on us when we heard some footsteps alongside the whistle, with incoherent incantations. It was like my mind and that of Funmi had a pep talk. We ran into the bush together at once. As minutes went by, we went further into the bush but Funmi was tired and it seemed the incantations got louder.
As I tried to help Funmi up, so we could proceed, my eyes stumbled on an area in the bush which had some movements. I motioned to my friend to keep mute. As I looked closely, there in front of me was a man carrying out what looked like a ritual, he was stark naked, with a bowl of calabash sitting carefully on his two palms!
Another aged man was far behind him, holding a branch of plant, saying some words I had only heard in the Nigerian make-believe movie industry. I was shocked! My head became twice its normal size…(so I felt).
They went their way while we prayed for morning sun to come out as quickly as possible before our eyes behold another abomination. I’m not sure I will go out with anyone ever again at midnight.
How Ex-NSA Dasuki got Jonathan’s Approvals to Collect $2.1b from NNPC (Details)
Ex-NSA Sambo Dasuki is currently being investigated by the federal government over Billions of Dollars released for the procurement of arms for counter-terrorism operations under Goodluck Jonathan.
New documents have showed breakdown of NNPC’s disbursements to the office of NSA as follows:
$1 billion on March 27, 2014; $200 million on April 9, 2014; $600 million on May 5, 2014; and, same day, $200 million following a request for $250 million.
According to The Cable, the documents also showed that on January 12, 2015, he got $100 million, bringing the total amount his office received from the NNPC to $2.1billion within the nine months.
All these were outside the statutory budgetary allocations to security during the same period, in addition to another $1 billion loan secured by the Jonathan administration to fight Boko Haram.
President Muhammadu Buhari recently ordered the arrest of Dasuki for awarding “fictitious contracts” in excess of N300 billion while he was NSA.
It is believed that the arms and ammunition were either not purchased at all or that substandard ones were procured instead, reportedly leading to the death of many Nigerian soldiers in the hands of the better-equipped Boko Haram insurgents.
There were various media reports, both local and foreign, quoting unnamed Nigerian soldiers complaining about inadequate arms as well as poor welfare in the counter-terrorism war.
Thousands of soldiers deserted the military and those who refused to fight were court-martialed and jailed or sentenced to death.
The Cable can report, however, that Jonathan approved all the disbursements by NNPC, with his senior special assistant on administrative matters, Matt Aikhionbere, writing the covering letters conveying presidential consent to the corporation after the president had minuted on Dasuki’s requests.
Jonathan further approved that the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) should give Dasuki N40 billion following another extra-budgetary request.
This was after the removal of Sanusi Lamido Sanusi as the central bank governor in 2014.
Dasuki had written to the then acting governor, Sarah Alade, requesting for N60billion, but she did not act on the request, reportedly because Jonathan was not copied and there was no presidential approval.
Following the appointment of Godwin Emefiele as governor in June 2014, Dasuki re-presented his request but Emefiele too did not act on it because of procedural concerns.
However, Dasuki sent another request, this time copying Jonathan, who – The Cable understands – now sat the two men together and instructed that the bank should give N40billion to Dasuki and another N20billion to the Department of State Services (DSS), although there was no prior request from the department.
It is believed in security circles that the N20billion went to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the former president’s party, apparently to finance the 2015 electioneering.
There was a twist in the story after the 2015 general election when a senator got wind of the N60bn expenditure and tried to blackmail Emefiele, demanding N5bn in order to keep it away from public.
Emefiele reportedly resisted the pressure from the senator, insisting that he acted based on a presidential order. The senator is now a principal officer of the national assembly against the wishes of Buhari, who was made aware of the blackmail in May before he was sworn in as president.
The Cable could not confirm if Emefiele eventually paid anything to the senator.

Burna boy, has opened up on why he does not consider himself a part of the Nigerian music industry.According to him,there is too much politics.
Speaking to The Fader magazine,he said
He said, “It’s political, man. To be honest, I don’t really feel like I’m a part of the industry. Check out awards, I don’t get awards because the powers that be don’t really like me. I’m not like everyone else; I won’t do what everyone else does. They don’t like it.Everything is really political, too much politics in the industry and I’m not a very good politician.So I don’t really involve myself in all that. I just drop hit songs, and my fan base keeps increasing.“If I was a part of the industry then I wouldn’t have shit today. Think about it. It would just be one of the songs you hear in the club and then that’s it.“But right now, you see, I don’t have the most Twitter followers or the most Instagram numbers or whatever, but the things that I do the people with one million followers can’t do it,”
Truck crushes Pastor to death on his way to Church
It was learnt that the motorcyclist, Ayo Nugbohoyon, was taking the pastor to a church when the both of them were crushed by a truck conveying cement and asbestos.
The truck pushed them into the path of an oncoming Toyota Camry car with a Lagos number carrying five members of a family, who were also going to church.
The driver of the car, identified as Samuel, and his family members – wife and three children – reportedly sustained injuries and were rushed to a hospital in the area. The car fell into the drainage channel by the roadside.
According to PUNCH, the truck marked Lagos EPE712XH, was heading inward Oyero from Ogba Ayo when its tyres slipped off the steep part of the road and veered into the motorcycle, which was going towards Ogba Ayo.
The corpses of the dead Pastor and okada man were taken to Ifo General Hospital Mortuary, as policemen from the Agbado division and some residents of the community were seen making efforts to clear the road. Officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps later joined them in the operation.
An okada rider and friend of Nugbohoyon, Israel Oyewo, said he (the deceased) had wanted to travel to Benin Republic to meet his wife who gave birth on Friday.
He said, “It is very painful. His wife had a baby two days ago and he had planned to travel later today (Sunday) before the incident happened. The passenger he carried, a pastor, also died. He was taking the pastor to a church.”

How I deceived my customers into buying soaps as phones - 54-year-old Man
This 54-year-old man who hails from Effurun, Delta State, Michael Bisa, has been arrested for selling fake phones to customers in the Oshodi area of the state.
According to the police, Bisa allegedly swindled members of the public by disguising as a mobile phone seller in the area, selling bars of soap to them instead.
Punch Newspaper gathered that the police recovered bars of soap, shirts, some amount of money and envelopes from the suspect.
Bisa, a father of four, said in his statement that it was poverty that drove him to sell bars of soap as mobile phones.
He said, “What I did to my customers is called exchange. The people who came to me to buy mobile phones would be shown a real phone. But while we were discussing the price, I would carefully hide the phone in a white handkerchief and swap it with a bar of soap which I had already cut to size and put in a phone case.
“As soon as they left the spot, I would change my clothes so that the buyer would not recognise me again.”
Bisa added that a friend, who was now dead, identified as Hakeem Tijani, introduced him to the “job” about four years ago.
He said, “I was a refrigerator technician in Delta State. I came to Lagos to look for greener pastures about 15 years ago. When the situation got so hard for me, I met a friend, Hakeem Tijani, who is now late. He was the one who taught me the job. Since that time, about four years ago, I have been surviving this way.”
The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Joe Offor, confirmed the arrest, adding that the suspect would be charged to court soon.

21-year-old stabs Lagos landlord to death (Photo)

Some hoodlums started a street fight on Olorogun Street, Odo Eran, in the Itire area of Lagos State on Tuesday, during which a 21-year-old stabbed a landlord, identified as Alawu Lateef, to death.
PUNCH Metro learnt that Lateef, who was a father of three, had intervened in the fight, and asked the hoodlums to leave the area, when one of them, identified as Lati Elepo, stabbed the landlord.
It was gathered that the father of three slumped, while residents arrested Elepo before he could escape with the other hoodlums. The matter was said to have been reported at the Itire Police Division.
Our correspondent learnt that the hoodlums, numbering six boys, had come from Osindero Street to meet one Balogun, who they claimed owed them about N30,000.
It was learnt that when the hoodlums did not meet Balogun at home, they started to make trouble on the street.
The landlord, Lateef, who worked as a panel beater, was said to have asked Elepo to leave the area with his gang members. The hoodlum, however, stabbed him in the chest.
Friends and family members rushed the landlord to a private hospital in the area, from where he was referred to the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, Idi Araba, where he was confirmed dead.
His corpse was afterwards brought to the Itire division.
When PUNCH Metro visited the area, one of his neighbours, who identified himself simply as Rashidi, said Lateef did not have any business with the miscreants, but only tried to pacify them when Elepo stabbed him on the chest.
Rashidi added that Elepo and two other suspects were arrested by the police.
He said,
“It was at about 11am when these boys from Osindero stormed our street. They are teenagers. They are not cultists. They said Balogun owed them N30,000 which they must collect from him.
“Lateef did not want such commotion on the street. So, he came out to caution them to take things calmly. The one who stabbed him was drunk.“While Lateef spoke with them, the suspect went to a shop of an artisan who sharpens knives and other metals, grabbed about three knives and stabbed Lateef on the chest. Resident arrested him and dragged him to the police station while other hoodlums ran away.”
The landlord’s wife was said to be too distraught to talk with PUNCH Metro as of the time of visit.
Another neighbour, who spoke on condition of anonymity said,
“Lateef was a nice man. His wife gave birth to their third child just two months ago. If Balogun was around, Lateef would not have intervened in the rampage.”
Our correspondent gathered that policemen visited the street in the evening and raided other suspected hoodlums lurking in the area.
‘My wife is a shameless and remorseless prostitute’ -Dr. Adeyeri, husband of Lagos ex-LCDA chairperson
Olusegun Adeyeri, the estranged husband of Mrs. Adedayo Adeyeri, the immediate past chairperson of Iba LCDA in Lagos State has described his wife as a shameless and remorseless adulterer cum prostitute that is well known across Badagry Division of Lagos State.
Dr. Adeyeri, who is a lecturer and researcher in the Department of History and International Studies, Faculty of Arts, Lagos State University, Ojo, Lagos, was responding to his estranged wife’s petition in Divorce Suit No. ID/486WD/2013, in the High Court of Lagos State, Ikeja Judicial Division.
His words, “The petitioner (his wife, Mrs. Adedayo Adeyeri) is widely known as a shameless and remorseless adulterer cum prostitute across Badagry Division, in particular the wife of the immediate past vice chairman of Oriade Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Mr. Gbolahan Daudu, in early 2014 complained through her friend (my office colleague), that the petitioner (his wife) no longer allowed her husband to sleep in their matrimonial home and that, I should call the petitioner to order.”
He went further to say that his estranged wife, while they were living together was in the habit of not only keeping late nights but returning home drunk.
He also claimed Hon. Ramota Adedayo Adeyeri (his wife) has an incurably violent and destructive personality which she often exhibits without provocation.
He mentioned instances in which she threw ceramic plates at him which resulted in bodily injury. He said, sometime in 2009, his wife threatened him with a kitchen knife.
He said his wife was also in the habit of traveling out of the matrimonial home for days without his consent.
While not objecting to his wife’s request for divorce from the 14 year-old marriage, he vehemently objected to her having the custody of their two children Master Olusegun – Michael Adeyeri (14) and Master Olufemi Emmanuel Adeyeri (12) – on the ground of her “reckless and remorseless adulterous affairs with various men including fuji artiste, Alhaji Wasiu Ayinde (a.k.a K1 de Ultimate), and some elements described as ‘small boys.’
That contrary to what his wife told the court in her petition that she is a trader, that she is a professional politician, who until October 2014, was the Chairman of Iba Local Council Development Area (LCDA).
Dr. Adeyeri agreed with his wife that their 14 year-old marriage should be dissolved on the grounds that the marriage has broken down irretrievably.
That his wife has behaved in such a way that he cannot reasonably be expected to live with her again. That the two of them have lived apart for more than two years.
Mrs. Adedayo Adeyeri, was once a member of Lagos House of Assembly before she was appointed Vice Chairman of Iba Local Council Development Area and later elected the chairman.

I Was Raped By a Church Leader
Last year May 31st night/June 1 morning. I survived a terrifying ordeal. A brother in a sister church, a supposed helper & leader. I was job hunting, hadn’t gone for service yet & didn’t want to sit at home idle. He offered to teach me how to bake since he owns/ manages a bakery at Gwarinpa Abuja. I accepted, but I still needed a paying job in other to save for service. We spoke about different options daily, one evening he offered to take me out for a drink, I accepted, after all we both understand the word of God, or so I thought. Who was I kidding?
He took me to his house, said he forgot something & wouldn’t be long, I stayed in the car, surprisingly enough he didn’t mind. But he later came out and said I could come in his sisters re in. True though, they were in & cordial. But not long after that they left us. I was alone in the sitting room, in an area I wasn’t to familiar with. That was the beginning of my nightmare & cold sweats…. I wept all night begged him and he went nothing less of 4 rounds on me. I wept for 2 days straight after that. Never told anyone for the dear of the “it’s all your fault” “why did you go to his house”.
I am a guy and I was raped at 7 by 3 women at the same time
My mum is a doctor and my dad was always travelling,so I ended up most times staying home with a nanny .I got this new nanny after i turned 7 and she always touched me in the shower and when i was asleep or when she was changing my clothes. Eventually, it turned from touching till she forced me one day to lick her and penetrate her. Most men actually suffer or have been from this circumstance because we have been moulded by being molested in our younger years,that No definitely means Yes. So most times we don’t see it as rape.
I am glad a man has come forward to share. And I am so sorry you had to go through this. Men are also victims of rape and molestation. They deserve a voice too. I would like to also add that being raped or molested (whether man or woman) as a child or of any age is not an excuse to do the same to another woman or man. Instead it should help you understand more, how messed up it is to be a victim of such an act)
