An event marketer in Ikeja, Lagos, on Tuesday told Sunday Tribune that she was robbed of over N180,000 after the bus she was riding in to Oshodi on Monday evening was ordered driven into a closed area along PWD, Shogunle area, by two robbers at gunpoint, around 6 p.m.
“We were seven in the bus and none of us suspected that the two men were armed robbers. As we got near the Airport road from Ikeja bus stop, one of them shouted and ordered us to bring out our ATM cards or be shot. The guy had a pistol in his hand,” the woman said.
Narrating further, she said all the passengers did as instructed and the other guy that sat close to the exit door dipped his hand in a bag, brought out the POS machine and swiped our cards on it after forcing us to disclose our pin numbers. In fact, a young boy who had less than N20,000 in his account was hit on the head and lips.
“When they got to a closed alley along PWD, they ordered the driver to stop and right there, a golf car that apparently had been waiting for them, took them away from the spot,” she added.
When Sunday Tribune was taking her story, on Tuesday, last week, she noted that she had yet to report to the police, noting that she only informed her husband, a banker, about what happened and that he came to pick her at a pub along Ladipo area.
