Emir Sanusi Sacks Kano State Governor’s Younger Brother

Kano Emirate Council has announced the immediate removal of Sani Umar Ganduje, the younger brother of the Governor of Kano State, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, as the Village Head of Ganduje.

Announcing the removal at a special palace sitting in Kano on Monday, Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II said the removal of the Village Head was as a result of his gross negligence to duty which the emirate council found disturbing, noting that it was an offence for one to smear the good image of the institution.

Emir Sanusi said the Village Head was stripped of his turban as his offence bordered on
gross official misconduct which the place was all out to jettison for the sake of safeguarding the credibility of the revered monarchy in Kano, stressing that it is an abiding obligation on the shoulders of every traditional ruler to exhibit a modicum of good conduct.

He went on to stress that with discipline and absolute commitment to duty nothing could ever stand in the wheel of the Kano Emirate Council to maintain its adored status.

According to SR, it was learnt that the embattled Ganduje younger brother was allegedly enmeshed in series of unwholesome practices which had prompted his subjects to report him to the Emir.

But some people are seeing Emir Sanusi's action as direct confrontation with the Governor.
