Photos: Skydiver Soldier’s Parachute Tangles with Electrical Wires

An Army skydiver had his parachute got tangled in electrical wires during a training exercise in Florida.  Carlos Esparza, 33, wasn't injured but when emergency crews found him, he was hanging from a power pole just south of the DeLand Municipal Airport.  However, he was quickly rescued from the wire.

Fire crews used a ladder truck to rescue untangle and him to the ground.  Officials said Esparza is from Fort Bragg, North Carolina, and was following behind his squad when he drifted into the wires during the exercise, according to the Orlando Sentinel. 'He was tangled in the parachute cords and hanging from the wires on top of the pole,' according to a police report.
