19-year-old Esther Oteri, a National Diploma, ND, student of Otefe Polytechnic, Oghara, Delta State, is battling for survival at the Delta State University Teaching Hospital, DELSUTH, after an armed robber shot her in the face during an operation around 7pm on February 18, a night to her matriculation day.
Oteri had allegedly gone out to retrieve her matriculation gown from a dry-cleaner, but on getting there, she saw a gunman right in the dry-cleaner’s office.
Terrified, she screamed ‘Jesus’ and the robber shot her for daring to raise an alarm.
He then dispossessed her of her phone. The Maxilofacial and Ophthalmology team at DELSUTH are now working on her.
