Militants Again? Gunmen hit Yoruba Palace, Abduct Monarch, Shoot His Wife, Kill Guard

Gunmen have abducted a first class traditional ruler in Lagos State, Oba Yushau Goriola Oseni, the Oniba of Ibaland. In the process they shot his wife and killed one of his guards.

The daring gunmen, suspected to be from Niger Delta, stormed the monarch’s palace at around 11:30pm on Saturday and took the monarch away, escaping through the waterways.

A Palace source said the gunmen killed Oseni’s guard, a neighbourhood Watch officer and shot his wife in the process of trying to escape with the monarch.

Oba Oseni is also the father of a former Iba LCDA Chairman, Mrs. Ramota Oseni-Adeyeri.

I hope Police and Military authorities in Lagos can tame these militants before they get too comfortable?
