One of the 100 suspected Boko Haram terrorists declared wanted by the Nigerian Army has been apprehended along the Borno-Adamawa border on Friday, December 4. The suspect, Abdullahi Abubakar, who is number 58 on the list was arrested by the vigilant troops at the
Uba Askira area along the border of Borno and Adamawa states, an army statement signed by SK Usman says.
Abubakar is currently undergoing interrogation at an undisclosed military facility.
Confirming the arrest, Brig.Gen. Victor Ezugwu, the Brigade Commander of the 28 Task Force Brigade in Mubi, Adamawa state, said the troops indeed arrested a Boko Haram kingpin, but did not provide further details.
Two weeks ago, there were reports that two suspected members of the Boko Haram militants were arrested in Zaria area of Kaduna state and handed over to the police.
They were said to have disguised as members of the Jama’atu Izalatil Bid’a Wa’iqamitis Sunna (JIBWIS) First Aid Group.
