Moet Abebe -I Got My First Tattoo At 15

Soundcity VJ, Moet Abebe, has revealed that she got her first tattoo in high school when she was just a 15-year-old girl.
Moet is a tattoo aficionado, with no less than 8 tattoos on various parts of her body.

Speaking to a Prince Isaiah correspondent at the Soundcity office, she said it all started when she was a lot younger.

‘I was a bit of a rebellious one, but I think as I’ve gotten older, tattoos to me is no more a way of trying to show the world that I’m a bad girl, rather it is now me trying to tell a story for myself on my body. I have 8 tattoos and I had the first one when I was 15,’ she said.
She added that her tattoos are symbolic to her, saying, ‘Most of the tattoos I have actually do mean something to me. It’s my body and I’m not someone who just inks a random tattoo. Basically, my tattoos mean something to me.’

Kidnappers Demand N500m Ransom To Free President Jonathan's Uncle

Abductors of Inengite Nitabai, the 70-year old uncle of President Goodluck Jonathan, have demanded a N500m ransom, Sahara Reporters report.

A security source said that the abductors threatened to kill him if the family fails to produce the money. The source also said the family had constituted a committee to evaluate the demand, establish negotiations with the abductors and facilitate his release.

He said the kidnappers had also warned against the involvement of security operatives in the matter.
"The kidnappers contacted the family four days after and demanded a whopping sum of N500m. It is believed that the family of the victim has begun negotiations with the hoodlums," he said.

Tension and panic set in when the kidnappers failed to establish any contact with the family of their victim three days after he was abducted.

That development was said to have rattled the Presidency, which reportedly ordered a massive deployment of security in Otuoke, the hometown of the Jonathans, and the Niger Delta creeks.
The gunmen abducted Nitabai on Sunday after collecting about N400,000 from his wife.

Beta Money: Harrysong Reveals He Charges N1million For Writing A Song

Harrison “Harrysong” Okiri is one of a number of Nigerian artistes on the fast track to fame and money.
The Beta Pikin singer revealed a couple of things in an interview with The Punch, admitting he charges N1million to write a song.
He said, “Before now we (songwriters) charged between N100, 000 and N2000, 000 for a song. Today I charge as much as 1million to write a song. Truth is, Nigerian artistes have begun to appreciate songwriters. They pay me my money and appreciate me.
“I have written a lot of songs but I don’t talk about them because Nigerian artistes don’t like it when the songwriters take credit for composing songs for them.”
The singer also talked about his lucrative deal with telecoms giant, MTN.
“The proceeds from the caller-back tune is actually worth more than N50m. Truth is, I was paid a lot of money;  you know -  when they say money that can change someone’s life. That’s the value of what I received .
“I can’t reveal the exact amount because we work as a team. So, all the money realised is shared among us. You just want to forget all the years of suffering. It’s not a mere hype because the money is there. The song is everywhere. You go to South-Africa , the girls are crazy about it.”

Man dies in romp with commercial sex worker in Aba

…had N200,000 cash on him
ABA — A man, identified as Ogadinma Chukwu, has lost his life while having sex with a commercial sex worker at a popular brothel located on St. Michael’s Road, Aba, Abia State.
Sources said the deceased, whom they alleged to be a regular visitor to the brothel, died while romping the prostitute.
It was gathered that immediately Chukwu slumped and died, the prostitute contacted her colleagues and the manager of the brothel who moved his corpse to a sanitary lane at the back of the brothel.
As a result of the development, shop owners around the area quickly closed business for fear of police arrest.
Those who spoke anonymously to our reporter disclosed that some staff of the brothel at about 5 p.m. brought out the corpse through their back door, dropped it at the sanitary lane and disappeared.
When our correspondent visited the area, the brothel was deserted as people were gathering at the adjoining St. Michael’s Road by York Street junction and Hospital Road.
A cross section of sympathisers said the deceased might have died of a cardiac arrest or exhaustion as white foam gushed out of his mouth.
Policemen from the Aba Central Police Station, who conducted a search at the scene, recovered an ATM card, a cheque book, cash of over N200,000 and a Man O’ War Association of Nigeria identity card, bearing the name, Ogadinma Chukwu.
Contacted, the Commander, Man O’ War Association, Aba, Uche Egbuziem, identified Ogadinma Chukwu as a former member of the association, stressing that the deceased and some other members of the group still use their old identity cards.
Abia Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, ASP Geoffrey Ogbonna, could not be reached for comments at press time, but a senior police officer said the corpse had been deposited in a mortuary.
He said an autopsy would be conducted to determine the cause of the man’s death.

The deceased boarded the aircraft from Dakar, Senegal, his body was discovered Saturday in the wheel well of the plane parked at Dulles International Airport in Washington.
Per Second News gathered from the Police that it was a South African Airways jet that was parked now in a remote part of the airport. Grounds crews found the body on Saturday afternoon.”

“During the process of conducting tests on the aircraft, SAA engineers discovered a human body in the centre wheel well”.
“SAA will offer its full cooperation to the US authorities and/or law enforcement agencies in an effort to ensure that a thorough investigation into this incident is carried out as expeditiously as possible”.

Officials of the Department of Homeland Security have contacted the Embassy of Nigeria to confirm his citizenship status.

Yobe Killings: Atiku Breaks Down in Tears, Says FG is “Chasing Shadows”

atiku56

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has said that efforts being made by the Federal Government and the security agencies in the fight against the Boko Haram insurgency appear to be ineffective.
Atiku was reacting to the killing on Tuesday of about 40 pupils of the Federal Government College, Buni Yadi, in Gujiba Local Government Area of Yobe State It was the latest in the sect’s chain of bloody attacks on soft targets in recent times.
The heavily armed attackers were reported to have stormed the school’s hostels in a predawn attack that lasted a few hours, leaving tears, blood and anguish in their tail.
The statement said in part:
“All the Federal Government had been doing about addressing the security situation in the North-east region of the country amounts to mere chasing of shadows if school walls cannot be protected from armed attacks.
“This will not be the first time in recent times that school children are being attacked, and it is particularly disheartening that the Federal Government is yet to devise a strategy of keeping our schools safe from terror attacks.
“If our counter-insurgency strategies are not strong enough to keep our children safe inside their schools, then one must wonder if such a strategy isn’t mere chasing of shadows.”
Atiku was said to have been particularly miffed by a statement made by President Goodluck Jonathan at his Monday’s Presidential Media Chat; to the effect that the government had been successful at pushing armed attacks to the fringes of the country.
“It is important that the Federal Government upped its counter-insurgency strategy and desist from taking credits in pushing armed attacks to the fringes, as the president would like to put it. No Nigerian’s life is less in value to another,” the former vice president stated.
He added that it was imperative for government to ensure security in schools, particularly Federal Government Colleges because of what he described as their unique role in forging national unity among pupils from diverse backgrounds in the country.
A statement released by his media office, said Atiku broke down in tears when he was informed of the killing of the pupils.
“My heartfelt condolences go to families of the slain school pupils. It is unfortunate that innocent school children become victims of armed attacks,” he moaned.

Pastor David Yonggi Cho Sentenced to 3 Years for Embezzling $12 Million

P
David Yonggi Cho, founder of Yoido Full Gospel Church, one of the largest Pentecostal churches in South Korea has been sentenced to three years in prison for embezzling $12 million in church funds. Allegations arose in November of last year when 30 church elders held a press conference accusing Cho and his family of stealing millions in church donations dating back to the 1990s. The elders enumerated multiple instances of Cho's dishonesty that involved him borrowing and never returning funds, acquiring enormous church donations without disclosing what they were being used toward and even taking an $18 million severance pay when he stepped down as head pastor in 2008.

One former church elder, Ha Sang-ok, was present at the press conference and urged Cho to come forward.
“A sect leader might violate the commandments and do as he wishes, but a pastor cannot do that. Over the past 14 years, I have met with Rev. Cho many times to try to persuade him to repent and return to being a great pastor, but the corruption has continued. That's why I had no choice but to disclose it to the outside world.”

On February 21, Seoul Central Court found Cho guilty of embezzlement from encouraging church officials in 2002 to buy stock owned by his son at four times the market value, according to Yohap News Agency. In addition to spending three years in prison, Cho will pay $4.6 million in fines as part of his sentence, though if the church elders were right this is still just a fraction of the total funds he stole.

This is not the first time Cho has been involved in scandal. In 2011, church elders accused the pastor of embezzling $20 milliom and privatizing church assets.

Yoido Full Gospel Church is an Assemblies of God-affiliated congregation and has grown exponentially since 1958 when Cho founded it. The church draws hundreds of thousands of worshipers to every service, according to PBS, making it the largest megachurch in the world.

Despite the recent scandals, Cho, 78, was once a highly respected pastor in Korea and around the world. From PBS:

Pastor Cho is one of the most revered evangelists in Korea. He was a Buddhist until he rejected his religion when he was near death from tuberculosis. He says that’s when Jesus Christ appeared to him in the middle of the night and told him to preach the gospel. So he did. When the country was suffering in poverty and desperation after the Korean War, he preached the gospel of hope through prayer.

Michael Adebolajo, 29, was given a whole-life term, while Michael Adebowale, 22, was jailed for life with a minimum of 45 years.

Daily Mail reports that the British-born men began shouting  'Allahu Akbar' and 'You (Britain) and America will never be safe' during their sentencing at the court in Central London today. They were bundled out of the courtroom by several security guards following their violent outburst and the judge was forced to sentence them in their absence.

Why Kerosene Sells So High

One gets the feeling that beyond the unresolved issues of the exact sum spent on kerosene subsidy and the legality or otherwise of the policy, a critical part of the discourse threading through it all is the issue of why kerosene continues to sell above the pump price of N50 per litre.
There is a sense in which this fact should matter to all well-meaning contributors to this discourse. Not just to members of the National Assembly who as accredited representatives of the people are paid to oversee the welfare and comfort of their constituents, especially as elections approach, but to anyone concerned with how public policy impact on the lives of citizens, It is essential that we get to the bottom of the matter. A good look at the processes it takes for kerosene gets to the end-user will no doubt help everybody understand why prices remain consistently high despite years of subsidy. In the end, it is clear that however the number of litres supplied and whatever the stipulated pump prize, there will always be people willing to circumvent the system. And these people do not necessarily work for the NNPC or PPMC.
The first thing to note is the fact that demand for the product is unusually high, far outstripping supply in some instances, even though supply is quite high. And until we can move more people from poverty to the middle-class or other forms of affordable fuel sources, the need for kerosene – as the population continues to grow so fast – will remain uncontrollable giving room for manipulation outside the control of structures put in place to protect the populace.
According to the head of the Pipelines and Products Marketing Company, Mr. Haruna Momoh, the figures for kerosene supply in the respective years show that government has made great efforts to make the product readily available as indicated herein: 2010 (2.5 trillion metric tones); 2011 (1.9 trillion metric tonnes); 2012 (2.6 trillion metric tonnes); and 2013 (2.6 trillion metric tonnes).
But as the man took pains to explain, the job of the agency ended with the bulk supply of the product, and it should not be held responsible for how it reached the end-users. That part of the distribution chain is normally handled by regulatory agencies, which together with the law enforcement agencies should “ensure seamless distribution of kerosene.”
One reason to account for the high price and scarcity of the product despite the metric tonnes supplied annually might be because a good proportion of the product gets diverted to neighbouring countries where the product is not subsidised, to be sold at higher prices. Our porous borders must be better policed if we are to stem the tide of smuggling that seem to grow progressively out of control. No matter how hard the NNPC worked to provide kerosene, as long as the police and custom officials who man our borders continue to remain powerless to these smugglers, we shall continue to have less kerosene to sell to our people and as every student of basic Economics know, the higher the demand, the higher the price.
Moreover, although kerosene is essentially used for cooking by most households, a good deal of it is also used for road construction as well as aviation fuel. Then there is the ever-present scourge of vandals who damage pipelines with their bunkering. Their constant interruption of the supply chain has had less than salubrious effect on the whole process of kerosene supply.
During the question and answer session at the sitting of the House committee recently, members showed data from the National Bureau of statistics, which implied that there is no evidence that the quantity of products quoted was consumed in the country. As usual, this data is not complete because they fail to take some other factors into consideration, including as we have pointed out, the quantity diverted, those stolen from pipelines, those used for road construction and those smuggled out.
A subsidy policy that attempts to make a popular commodity like kerosene, used by most households, affordable for the masses cannot be wrong. What is wrong is for the loopholes in the logistical chain to dampen the lofty efforts by the government alleviate the suffering of the low-income masses. The debate should not be about why there is or isn’t a subsidy but what can we do as a body responsible for the well-being of the masses to plug the holes – provide better fiscal and regulatory structures to ensure the system of monitoring pump price is ramped-up; smuggling is dealt with and a good push to move the populace onto other forms of cheaper fuel sources, are put in place.
I heard Mr. Haruna Momoh say this a few times at the hearing but the clutter and noise of political wrangling seemed to drown him out and block ears. I say lets dwell on fixing our structures, our supply chains and lets see if the whole country will not benefit from the well-meaning actions by our government. Until we can find the means to make this investment for the future, any monies further spent, recovered or remitted for that matter may well go down the drain.

Exposed: See How Sanusi Maneuvered His Way to Cover Up Multiple Billion Fraud

When the Financial Reporting Council Report was sent to Mallam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi on June 25, 2013, he’s fully aware that the game is over.

He allegedly brewed up his NNPC allegations to divert Nigerians attention from him by writing the president on September 27, 2013.

He succeeded in deceiving some, but his frauds can NEVER be covered.

Here are few of his fraudulent activities exposed by FRC audit

1] He donated N1b to BUK, Kano and wrote that he donated N4 million.
2] He wrote N40b debt of a bank without documentation and authority.
3] He invested $Billions in Malaysia Islamic Bank with no return on Investment to Nigeria.
4] He awarded 63 contracts valued over N1b each, without approval
5] He spent N1.257b for Lunch for his Police and Private Guards in a year.
6] He donated N1billion to a political party to build offices Nationwide.
7] He spent N4.5b to renovates his personal home without approval.
8] He spent N4billion on a CBN PH branch building that was already completed.
9] He wrote N2b Bogus checks to Airlines (some not registered in Nigeria) to distribute currency.
10) Claimed paying Nigerian Security Printing & Minting in 2011 N38.233b for the “printing of bank notes”. Company’s turnover in 2011 is only group is N29.370b from all customers including CBN.
11) Associated Airline was paid N1.025b in 2011, while the company was Dormant in the same year. (No Operation).

Operated Bogus Expense Heads To Hide Fraudulent Activities

… CBN Has Held An Account With A Balance Of N1.423 Billion For An Unknown Customer Since 2008.

Following Thursday’s suspension of Mr. Sanusi Lamido Sanusi as Governor of the Central Bank by President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, THEWILL has exclusively obtained a copy of the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria report that ripped apart the 2012 audited financial statement of the apex bank and exposed the fraud, excesses and wastefulness of Sanusi and the CBN.

Sanusi had over the years projected an image of an anti-graft banker, activist, reformer and crusader against graft and waste in government, as well as the financial sector. Weeks before his ouster as CBN Governor, Mr. Sanusi had accused the NNPC of failing to remit billions of dollars in oil revenue to the federation account, a claim which the NNPC has continued to dispute.

The 13-page Council report emanated following Sanusi’s response to a query issued him in early 2013 by President Goodluck Jonathan over the apex bank’s alarming reckless donations nationwide and its finances.

Whilst describing Sanusi’s response to the President’s query as “a clear display of incompetence, nonchalance, fraud, wastefulness, abuse of due process and deliberate efforts to misrepresent facts…”, the Council accused the suspended banker of several violations including but not limited to carrying out activities with financial implications that are not related to the CBN’s mandate, especially billions of naira in ambiguous payments to invoices referred to as “Centre of Excellence” and “Contribution to Internal National Security”, and the CBN’s claim that it paid N38.233 billion to the Nigerian Security Printing and Minting Company Plc in 2011 for the “prin ting of bank notes” whereas the turnover of the entire printing and minting company group is N29.370 billion.

The Council also accused Sanusi of rogue payments as air charter fees to Emirates Airways (N0.511b), Associated Airline (N1.025b) and Wing Airline (N0.425b), for the distribution of currency nationwide whereas Emirates does not operate local charter flights within Nigeria, Wing Air is unregistered in Nigeria with the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), and Associated Airlines did not have a billion naira turnover in 2011 and have no financial statements because the company said it had not had any significant operation in two years to warrant preparing a financial statement.

In lieu of the serious misconduct it found against Sanusi and the leadership of the CBN, the Council urged the President to exercise the powers conferred on him by “Section 11 (2) (f) of the Central Bank of Nigeria Act, 2007 or invoke Section 11 (2) (c) of the said Act and cause the Governor and the Deputy Governors to cease from holding office in the CBN and also direct the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria to carry out a full investigation of the activities of the CBN…”

Boko Haram members yesterday Sunday Feb. 23rd attacked two villages, Mairari village of Konduga LGA and Izge village in Gwoza LGA in Borno state killing many people.

This is the second time the sect men are attacking Izge village. They had attacked the village on the 16th of February killing 63 people.  In this recent attack, the men came at about 2am, chanting war songs as they killed elderly people in the village and burnt down all the standing buildings in the village. All the men, women and youths fled the village immediately they heard the sect men coming.
In Mairari village, the men arrived at about 12noon, killing 2 people, burning 10 houses and vehicles

There were rumours that the federal government was planning to dissolve the democratic government in Borno state and bring in a military administrator to help stop the continuous attack by the sect men on the state but this has been refuted by the federal government.

Meanwhile the Nigerian government sealed a portion of its North Eastern border with Cameroon yesterday to block the movement of criminal groups from entering into the country
