I Dreamt I’d Become Rich By Raping Toddler –Man Who Defiled Seven-Month-Old Baby

At 55 years old, Magaji Dansale, found himself in police custody for no other reason than allegation of raping his seven-month-old step-daughter. But when he was brought before journalists by the Katsina State Police Command on Friday, the reason he gave for raping the toddler was shocking.

Dansale said he violated the baby girl because of his desperation to become rich in life. The petty trader told journalists at the police headquarters in Katsina where he and some other suspects were paraded, that he had several dreams in which he became rich once he had sexual intercourse with a toddler.

The father of six said in Hausa, “I had sexual intercourse with the baby girl because I saw it in several dreams I had that it was the way for me to become successful in life. I dreamt that all my suffering in life would end. This is why I did it.

“I truly believed that if I had sexual intercourse with her, all my predicaments would vanish. I would not have to run around to make ends meet anymore.”

Dansale said he married the mother of the baby girl following the death of his first wife who had six children for him.

He however kept mum when asked whether he was remorseful for his action.

The Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr. Usman Abdullahi, said Dansale would be charged to court soon.

The child is still on admission at the Turai Umar Yar’Aadua Maternity and Children Hospital, Katsina, where she is receiving treatment.

She was admitted to hospital on Wednesday after a referral from General Hospital, Malumfashi, where doctors confirmed that she had suffered critical injury due to the rape.

The victim’s biological father, Ibrahim Nuhu, told journalists at the premises of the hospital in Katsina on Thursday that he had separated from the victim’s mother before she married Dansale. He explained that the incident occurred at Dangaski village in the Musawa Local Government Area of the state.

Ibrahim who also spoke in Hausa, said sometime last week, the baby’s mother approached him, complaining that the baby had pile which made her to bleed heavily through her private part and anus.

He said he then took the child to the General Hospital, Malumfashi where the doctors there insisted that the police must be involved as it was a rape case which had severely injured her and not piles as claimed by the mother.

The baby was consequently referred to the Turai Umar Yar’Adua Maternity and Children Hospital, Katsina, for further treatment while the police were called in.

The baby’s mother told journalists on Thursday, that sometime last week, she woke up from an unusual long sleep to find traces of blood and liquid in the baby’s private parts.

According to her, she assumed that the baby had piles. She added that the following day she made the observation, the suspect gave her some clothes to wash, among which was a trousers stained with blood and semen.

Dansale was subsequently arrested in connection with the incident.

Nine Persons Shot In Fresh Osun Communal Clash

No fewer than nine persons were reportedly shot and injured during a clash between the people of Asipa and Ipetumodu communities in Ife North Local Government Area of Osun State.

Our correspondent learnt on Friday that the fresh violence started on Wednesday during an Inter-house sports competition at Origbo Community High School, Ipetumodu.

It was however not clear what led to the fight between youths from the two communities, which was said to have snowballed into a communal clash in which guns and other weapons were reportedly used freely.

Our correspondent learnt that during the clash, some youths burnt down the popular Akinola Market, which they said was located on a piece of land belonging to Ipetumodu.

One of the leaders of Ipetumodu community, Chief Adedeji Asalu, alleged that the fight started when some youths from Asipa went to Origbo High School to stop them from holding the inter-house sports competition.

Asalu said, “ Asipa people went and disrupted the inter-house sports competition at Origbo Community High School. That was not all; they went to Akinola Market and set the place ablaze. They also pulled down part of our civic centre.

“They shot nine indigenes of Ipetumodu. Three of them were taken to a hospital for treatment.”

He identified some the victims as Dada, Sunday Eye, Niyi Bamgbofe , Apase , Musbau and Moshood, but added that none of them died.

Asalu further alleged that apart from setting the Akinola Market ablaze, Asipa youths went and shot at people at the market on Friday morning to scare traders away from the market.

Our correspondent also learnt that the Commissioner of Police in the state had invited representatives of the two warring communities to the police headquarters in Osogbo for a meeting.

A chief from Asipa community, Julius Ojerinde, described the allegations by Ipetumodu people against his community as fabrications.

He alleged that indigenes of Ipetumodu were angry because the White Paper on the 2015 crisis between the two communities favoured Asipa .

He accused Ipetumodu community of using the inter-house sports competition as an opportunity to attack youths from Asipa because of the content of the White Paper, which he said had become a subject of litigation.

Ojerinde said, “They have been telling lies from the beginning. They injured three of our youths with machetes and broken bottles during the inter-house sports competition. We will take the three victims to Osogbo later so that the police can see them.

“The divisional police officer was here when Ipetumodu youths took over the road to cause trouble again. Our people did not set any market ablaze.”

The Public Relations Officer of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Afolabi Babawale, confirmed the clash between the two communities, but said normalcy had since been restored to the place.

The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Mrs. Folashade Odoro, also said the situation had been brought under control.

She said no policeman was killed in the clash.

Odoro said, “We have brought the situation under control. We are at the market now and traders are there. It is not true that a policeman was killed.”

It will be recalled that the two communities had on January 13, 2015 engaged in a clash which resulted in massive destruction of properties.

Osun State Governor, Mr. Rauf Aregbesola, had set up a commission of inquiry to unravel the cause of the crisis in order to prevent a re-occurrence.

Surety Turns Accused For Allegedly Aiding Escape Of Suspects

A 42-year-old man, Taiwo Idowu, who allegedly aided the escape of two men he stood surety for, was on Friday in Lagos granted a N1 million bail.

An Igbosere Magistrates’ Court, which gave the ruling, asked Idowu to provide two sureties as part of the bail condition.

He said the accused stood surety for two of his friends, Sikiru Balogun and Taiwo Taiwo, in a case of alleged malicious damage Emby said Idowu promised to produce the suspects on March 29, and other subsequent dates they would be needed at the station but failed to do so.

He also said that Idowu made an undertaken to forfeit N800,000 bail bond which he made while standing as a surety for the two suspects if he failed to produce them.

“He failed to produce the two suspects at the police station, thereby aiding their escape,’’ he said. E

mby said Idowu should show cause, why he should not forfeit the said N800,000 bail bond to the Lagos State Government.

He said that the offences contravened Sections 97 (i) and 132 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.

Fuel Scarcity Looms As Shell Shuts Down Nembe Pipeline

Nigeria stands to experience a shortfall in its oil exports earning as Shell Plc said it had shut down the Nembe Creek Trunk Line, which exports Bonny Light crude oil.

The company said it shut the trunk line to remove theft points. The managing director of Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC) said the company was working to “remove a significant number of oil theft connections and repair any leaks on the pipeline.”

The line, operated by Aiteo, is one of two along with the Trans Niger Pipeline that carries Bonny Light crude oil to the export terminal.

Exports of roughly 232,000 barrels per day (bpd) were planned in April, according to loading programmes, but it was not immediately clear how much of this would be impacted by the pipeline shutdown.

“SPDC will work with the security forces during shutdown to clear illegal connections on NCTL,” SPDC said.

Shell declined to comment on the impact of the pipeline outage on its operations, but oil traders said the loading programmes were so far not affected. There have been widespread loading delays on Nigeria’s Qua Iboe crude oil, with yet another revised export plan issued on Friday.

Woman injects Lady's Butt with Cement, Super Glue, other deadly toxins for enlargement

A Florida woman, O’Neal Morris was sentenced Monday to 10 years in prison after allegedly injecting a woman’s buttocks with cement, Super Glue and other deadly toxins, resulting in her death.
She begged the court for mercy just before the judge handed down the sentence, which includes five years of probation, in the death of 31-year-old Shatarka Nuby, WSVN reports.

Morris pleaded no contest to a charge of manslaughter along with several counts of practicing medicine without a license and practicing medicine without a license resulting in serious bodily injury, according to court documents obtained by PEOPLE.

In court on Monday, Morris, 36, continued to deny the allegations against her.

“I have never, ever, or would dare ever to inject, or have injected any human with any type of unknown substance, such as Super Glue, cement, Fix-a-Flat, concrete, nothing that comes from Home Depot, nothing that comes out of any hardware store,” Morris said, according to WSVN.

She said she pleaded no contest because she didn’t think her trial would be fair, the station reports.

Nuby died in 2012 in federal prison after earlier paying Morris $2,000 for 10 butt injections — which officials claimed contained silicone, mineral oil, cement, Fix-a-Flat and Super Glue, according to the station.

Morris rebuked this, however, saying in court, “I would never do that, so please don’t listen to the lies. Please do not listen to what they’re reporting.”

Morris, also known as Duchess, allegedly posed as a doctor for years, delivering illegal injections to clients who paid her to enhance the appearance of their butts, the Sun Sentinel reports. The first charges against her were filed in 2011, according to the paper.

Morris initially faced a manslaughter charge in Nuby’s death. A medical examiner determined she died of lung disease caused by “massive systemic silicone migration” as a result of the injections.

Magu Seeks N5bn Compensation From Sun Newspaper

Ibrahim Magu, acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), has written a letter to the publisher of the Sun Newspaper in Abuja seeking a N5 billion naira compensation.

Wilson Uwujaren, Head Media and Publicity, EFCC said this on Thursday in a statement in Abuja.
He said Magu was seeking the compensation for “libelous imputations and statements” made against him in a story published on the March 25, 2017 edition of the Saturday Sun.

“The publication was captioned “Magu Under Fresh Probe over 2 Abuja Mansions”.

The spokesman said that Magu’s solicitor, Wahab Shittu, noted in the letter that the authors of the story – Fred Itua, James Ojo and Lawrene Enyoghasu, “wilfully and maliciously made false, destructive, and defamatory statements” against him.

He said that the paper quoted unidentified sources.

Uwujaren said that the writers of the “offensive” report, had maliciously alleged that Magu owned “two mansions on different streets in highbrow Maitama area of Abuja”

“This is a case which they could not substantiate, and which in fact was false, and nothing but the figments of their imaginations.

The statement said that Magu further reiterated that “neither himself nor his wife own any property in Maitama.

He said further that Magu in addition to the demand for N5 billion compensation, has charged the publishers to issue a public apology and immediate retraction in writing of these false libelous statements”, within the next seven days.

The statement also demanded that it must be published on the front page of the newspaper.
” Failure of which, “legal remedies including monetary damages, injunctive reliefs, and an order that you pay necessary costs including solicitor’s fees for your defamation”, will be taken.

It added that the publishers are also to provide “written assurance within seven days, that they would cease and desist from further defamation” of Magu’s name, integrity, and reputation.

S. Korean Ex-President Jailed Over Corruption Allegations

South Korea's former President Park Geun-hye has been arrested and jailed over high-profile corruption allegations that already ended her tumultuous four-year rule and prompted an election to find her successor.

A convoy of vehicles, including a black sedan carrying Park, entered a detention facility near Seoul after the Seoul Central District Court granted prosecutors' request to arrest her.

Many Park supporters waved national flags and shouted "president" as Park's car entered the facility.
Prosecutors can detain her for up to 20 days before formally charging her, meaning she will likely be in jail while her case is heard. A district court normally issues a ruling within six months of an indictment.

The Seoul court's decision is yet another humiliating fall for Park, South Korea's first female president who was elected in 2012 amid overwhelming support from conservatives, who recall her dictator father as a hero who lifted the country from poverty in the 1960-70s despite a record of severe human rights abuses.

Prosecutors accuse Park of colluding with a confidante to extort big businesses, take a bribe from one of the companies and commit other wrongdoing. The allegations led millions of South Koreans to protest in the streets every weekend for months before lawmakers impeached her in December and the Constitutional Court ruled in March to formally remove her from office.

It made Park the country's first democratically elected leader to be forced from office since democracy got there in the late 1980s.

South Korea will hold an election in May to choose Park's successor.

Prosecutors can charge Park without arresting her. But they said they wanted to arrest her because the allegations against her are "grave" and because other suspects involved the scandal, including her confidante Choi Soon-sil and Samsung heir Lee Jae-yong, have already been arrested.

Buhari ‘ll Return To His London Doctors – Presidency

The Presidency on Thursday said President Muhammadu Buhari has not changed his plan to return to his doctors in London, United Kingdom for follow-ups.

The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, said this in an interview with journalists.

Shehu said it was not true that Buhari had decided to bring his doctors to Nigeria instead of returning to London.

The presidential spokesman however did not specify when Buhari will return to London.

He said, “It is false news (that Buhari is no longer going to London). We are not aware of the reported advance movements.

“The last time the President spoke about this, he said he would return to his doctors after some time.

“We are not aware that this has changed.

Buhari had shortly after he returned to the country after his 49-day medical vacation in London admitted that he had never been that sick in his life.

He then gave an indication that he will return to London for further checkup.

“I am feeling much better now,  there may, however, be need to have further follow-ups within some  weeks,” the President had said.
