Keep Your Marital Issues Off Social Media”, Timi Dakolo On Making Marriage Work

TimiandBusolaDakolo_Aug_that1960chick.com
In a new interview with Punch, Timi Dakolo is spilling some gems on making marriage work as he advises couples to never bring their marital issues to social media.

Read excerpts below...

On never bringing his marital issues to social media
Love is not enough in marriage; the best way to keep a marriage is to trust your companion. People put themselves under a lot of pressure, life is very simple. I usually ask my wife who is ‘toasting’ her presently. We are human beings and the first thing you have to do is be friends with your spouse. It is not every time you feel like loving another human being, sometimes the issues of life may make you keep to yourself. There are times I would cut off from my children but when I realise that I am giving them too much space, I would come back. Sometimes, the pressure of what you are doing takes a toll on you.  I always create a balance in life.
There is no family that does not argue or fight but we have a rule in my house: we will never argue in the presence of the kids. If I cannot argue in the presence of my kids, why would I put my family problems on social media? Marriage is for two, three is a crowd.
Why he uses his wife in his music videos
These are things that I say about her and I show her. If I am singing about her, there are some things that you will say that you can’t tell just anybody. You can only say it convincingly to your wife

Tuface Idibia Breaks Silence on Claims that He Slept With Tiwa Savage: ‘I’m So Disgusted!’

Finally, 2baba Idibia has broken the silence on claims that he slept with Tiwa Savage.

He has slammed Nigerians who have been making distasteful comments about Tiwa & Teebillz marriage crash.

2face and Annie Idibia are really close friends to Tiwa Savage and her estranged husband, Teebillz Tunji Balogun. Teebillz even thanked Annie and his neighbour for sending him homemade meals in his Instagram outburst.

Photos: Adams Oshiomhole’s deputy escapes assassination

Gunmen on Saturday opened fire on the Edo State Deputy Governor, Dr. Pius Odubu, and his entourage in Auchi, Etsako West Local Government Area of the state.

Accoring to Punch, a policeman, an operative of the Department of State Security and three other persons were injured during the attack and were taken to an undisclosed hospital.

Odubu had last Wednesday formally declared his intention to contest the September 10 gubernatorial election in the state under the All Progressives Congress amidst wide speculation that his decision did not go down well with Governor Adams Oshiomhole.

It was learnt that the former lawmaker had earlier been denied access to the party’s secretariat in
Fugar, allegedly on the instruction of an official at the Government House.

Odubu was expected to meet with party delegates from the area but met the secretariat locked.

The situation was said to have angered some delegates, who later forced the gate open to enable the deputy governor meet with them.

He was said to have left for Auchi and was meeting with some delegates when the gunmen suddenly appeared, firing gunshots at his convoy.

A source, who did not want to be mentioned, told Punch that Odubu was not injured in the attack.

“No, he was not injured but two our security men were injured. It was in Etsako West, in Auchi.
“We ran for our dear lives. They injured a policeman, an SSS operative and three civilians and destroyed canopies. We learnt that they were paid N1m to carry out the attack,” the source said.
Efforts by Punch to reach the Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Osifo Abiodun, were not successful. Calls put across to the Chief Press Secretary to the Deputy Governor, Mr. Kelly Odaro, also went unanswered, they say.

A police source confirmed the attack.

He said, “It is true from the information we have heard.”

May Day: Tiwa Savage, TBillz and Nigeria by Reuben Abati

“Ol’boy, man don see something oh.”

“Wetin you see?”
“My eyes don see something. My ears don hear, and my mouth sef, I for talk something join.”
“Talk make I hear”
“No be dis Tiwa Savage and him husband matter? The husband wey say him wife offend am, he no gi am food, him wife dey form for house but him dey open leg for other men, and na another woman they give am edible catering, and the man come vex he wan jump inside river for Lekki-Ikoyi bridge”
“Who the hell are you talking about?”

“Tiwa Savage and her husband”
“And who are those?”
“Tiwa, now. Marvin First Lady.  She is one of Nigeria’s topmost female artistes. And her husband.  They are quarrelling. The husband tried to commit suicide. She says her husband prefers to follow other women, take cocaine and ignore his responsibilities as a man and a husband. Social media is agog with the news. Mainstream media is feeding on it too. The man even tried to jump into the Lagoon.”
“And has he done so?”
“No. He was restrained by Banky W and Peter Okoye.”
“And who are those? Red Cross Officials?”
“You are in this country and you don’t know Banky W and Peter Okoye?”
“There is no way anyone can possibly know all the members of the Red Cross? ”
“They are musicians, not Red Cross, not NEMA”
“Oh, I see”
“Don’t tell me you are one of those dumb ones who do not know what is going on in this country?”
“I don’t get it. Am I supposed to worry about how Tiwa Savage and her husband are savaging the public space with their dirty linen and turning their marriage into a subject for beer parlour gossip?”
“It is a serious matter.”
“Oh really? So, how has their matter affected the supply of petrol, the price of foodstuffs and the payment of salaries?”
“It is the biggest news of the week.”
“Of course, because the media does not know what to prioritise anymore”
“There are issues involved. Tiwa Savage’s husband wanted to commit suicide. The same week, there was a report about a man who killed his target of amorous desire and stabbed her mother  in Ilorin because the lady refused to love or marry him.”
“Love is the most potent poison in the world. The graveyard is a prison yard of unrequited love.”
“Tiwa Savage’s husband says…”
“You keep mentioning the wife.  That husband doesn’t have a name? They should have allowed him to jump into the Lagoon, and have his wife do a special song at his funeral and go home on the left arm of another man.”
“They call him em em. actually that is the problem if you would listen to the wife. She is the breadwinner, she says and the man likes to squander money and so on and so forth.”
“Look, I am not interested in that story.  I don’t want a taste of Tiwa Savage’s #Lemonade. I don’t want any tales about the #Becky-with-the-Big-Hair that served her husband “edible catering”. Or do you want the National Assembly to have a special session on a derailed marriage, or may be you want President Muhammadu Buhari to issue a statement on it? One of these days, Nigerians will start insisting that the Nigerian President should become a marriage counselor and he will be blamed for marital squabbles.”
“We are talking about celebrities. And come to think of it, in a normal country, Tiwa Savage’s husband will not have to depend on his wife. He will have a proper means of income.”
“E ma gba mi ke. Doro Tiwa and husband fight and Nigeria no go hear word? E joor oh. As you lay your bed, you lie on it. These things happen every day. Human beings pay for the choices that they make. They learn from the outcomes of their choices. Can we have the media focus on serious matters beyond sex, infidelity, cocaine and the poverty of matrimonial matters in the household of Tiwa and Tee Blliz? Which kin name be that sef?”
“Today is May Day for example”
“Nigerian workers should actually carry placards tomorrow, screaming May Day, May Day, May Day!!”
“You want them to scream for help?”
“Yes, because the Nigerian worker today is hungry, angry, sinking, helpless, jobless, over-used, under-paid and in despair. State governments are not paying salaries. Companies are retrenching staff.  The latest I read is that First Bank is planning to sack 1, 000 workers, Aero Contractors, 100.  I know a couple, who have both just lost their jobs and they have five children. Some other companies are closing shop. Massive divestiture in the economy.”
“Incidentally, you know the people who caused the melt down. “
“Tell me”
“I don’t know.”
“If you don’t know, then you don’t know, before you say something that will make me give you a punch in the face. But I think all that President Buhari needs to do tomorrow is to give the people hope.  In a situation like this, you give the people hope, you reassure them.”
“You are recommending rhetoric. Speaking for speaking sake.”
“No. I am saying hope is a strong weapon. When a leader gives the people hope, he calms down their blood pressure. It is a strong pill.”
“The Nigeria Labour Congress and the Trade Union Congress are not asking for hope. Nigerian workers know what they want. They are asking for N56, 000 minimum wage.”
“Chai”
“You heard me. N56, 000”
“Chai. Do they live in this country at all? Do they have economists among them? Does it make sense to ask for what you know you cannot get?”
“You can ask for what you think you deserve.”
“But in matters like this, you look at the economy too. What they are asking for is called wage indexation. That is not sound economics. Wage indexation is a self-fulfilling prophecy. If you base your calculations on it, there will never be an end to it, and it will undermine the economy.”
“Which economy? An economy where some people grab N2 billion, and millions of dollars all in the line of a day’s arrangement, and workers cannot get the existing N18, 000 minimum wage?”
“If I were the NLC or TUC leader, I’ll be more interested in giving the government ideas about how to pay the current minimum wage and ensure that the welfare of the people is properly the concern of government. NLC should be pragmatic. Get all salary arrears paid to start with, and get government to pay all emoluments as at when due. Uncommon sense.”
“Sorry, Labour leaders don’t claim that they are economists. They just want the best for the Nigerian worker. That is their mandate.”
“Don’t speak for them. When they meet the President and the Governors tomorrow, let them say so. I wonder if anybody even reads those long speeches on Labour Day. Nigerian workers are looking for unpaid salaries, but their leaders ride exotic SUVs, and live in mansions. I beg.”
“You are beginning to sound like a government spokesperson. Come, are you still one of us?”
“I beg”
“By the way, what do you think is likely to happen in the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), now that the party leadership says the Chairman of the party must come from the North East, and the South West members are threatening to pull out?”
“Are you sure anybody in the South West is threatening to pull out?”
“Yes. You don’t read the papers? Na one of your brothers even talk am”
“Who?”
“The Lion himself”
“A lion in my family?”
“Have you forgotten so soon? Abi as your phone no ring again, your brain no ring too? You no know the attack dog, the Lion?”
“Lion. Attack dog.”
“Hen hen now. Him say if they don’t make somebody from South West the Chairman of the PDP, the South West wing of the PDP will leave the party.”
“I’ll advise you not to lose sleep over what politicians say.  What you can be sure of though, is that before 2019, there is likely to be interesting re-alignments.  Nigerian politics may not be the same again before and after 2019.”
“Na dem sabi. Make they just give us the mekunnu, power, good roads, jobs and our salaries at the end of the month. Me, talking for meself, I don see say e no matter which party win election, as long as the economy dey kampe and man fit chop, pay school fees and get light to do welle for night. My broda, na the better thing wey matter pass be dat.”
“What is welle?”
“You no know Welle?”
“No”
“Kai. Lord of Heaven. No be the thing wey dey cause problem between Tiwa Savage and her husband be dat?”
“I still don’t get it.”
“You no watch her interview?  As the girl they talk, dey cry, without make up, looking like an angel, doing her eye like this, her shoulder like that, e just dey pain me say dem no allow the husband jump for inside river. If I see Banky W and Peter Okoye, hen, the kine slap wey I go give dem.”
“Are you alright? Have you been sniffing cocaine?”
“C’ommot there. You just carry book for head, you no know how life be?”
“I am sorry for you.”
“Sorry for yourself.”
“Na you go sorry for yourself. And why your head dey always shine like this? You no get hair? You never reach old age, your head don become desert. Na people like you women dey look for?”
“This is a special haircut, you can see that the shaving of the hair is completely clean.”
“This is not a haircut. This is called desert encroachment, or the desertification of the human skull”
“I did it this way, in the shape of a shining mirror, in solidarity with the people of the Edo Kingdom who have just lost their revered monarch, the Omo N’Oba N’Edo Uku Akpolokpolo,  Erediauwa I”
“Only Benin sons are required to do gorimapa in honour of the great king that has ascended to the rafters.”
“There is no law that says other Nigerians cannot honour a revered monarch who kept the dignity of the throne and left behind a legacy of honour, character, royal grace, and dignity.”
“You don spake my broda. Make I add my own; Oba gha to kpere”
“Ise-ee”
“May his path to the great Beyond be one of illumination and grace.”
“So let it be.”
“So mote it be.”

Aftermath of Tiwa Savage's revelation: UNILAG and Babcock University Girls disagree

Teebillz

Following Nigerian pop star, Tiwa Savage ‘s explosive interview that hit the internet last night and all the fresh revelations that came from it, NET NG reporters have sought to get advice from ladies of the University of Lagos (Unilag), who have varying words for singer on the trending news of her marriage collapse.

  • You know say I be insider, so I know every. Dem tell you no marry this guy, just keep working with him but as she don cast reach, she no get choice. Now every thing don turn, two of them get all the fault. – Omanudhowo Ogaga, Actuarial Science

  • But she doesn’t have any excuse when she says Teebillz has an alcohol problem. She saw that problem before she agreed to marry him. – Okporo  Julia, Acturial Science

  • May God save us all from hypocritical men. The type of men that don’t want us to succeed. – Yetunde, Actuarial Science

  • The guys is useless, he’s not worth it. – Seriki Habibat, Microbiology

  • She should leave him fast fast before he ruins her. – Ocloo Tolulope, Chemistry

  • Make Tiwa no shout again, she don try. – Idris Rasheedat

  • Tiwa is a really hardworking lady, so she should stop crying. I understand how she feels, so I’ll just advice that she should be patient and just follow her heart. – Adekunmisi Wonuola

  • From day one, they’ve both not been compatible. If she’s not happy, she should just leave. She has her mistakes too, but they are both not happy, they’ve never been. She should just leave. – Ibidolapo Ojerinde
Some students of Babcock University on the other-hand had this to say:

She should divorce joor. –  Shodeinde Bimbo, Nursing, 300l

I really don’t know who to believe because Tiwa’s side of story is so different from her husband’s own. The problem with most men is that they don’t like seeing their woman having upper hand. Tiwa is a strong lady, and I feel if she could keep those things to herself, then she could make her marriage work out but I think she has made up her mind already. – Dokunmu Olayinka, Accounting, 400l

I’ll advice her to focus on raising her child and never to go back to marriage with Tee jay. – Adeniran Wuraola, Public Health, 300l

I think she should leave the marriage and hold on to God.  – Adeniran Opemipo 300l, Public Administration

I really think she just has to leave him o. The guy is a mad man o. He hasn’t even spent a dime on their child! Who does that? Even if he’s having issues with the wife it shouldn’t affect the child na and he’s cheating too so she’s justified in every way. – Omojola Tamilore, Public Health, 300l

Honestly I feel she should walk away from the marriage for now, let things cool down for a while and when he comes back to his senses and he’s ready to talk back she should give it a shot. – Mrs Adeniran

I’m confused as to what I think she should do but I feel she should walk away from the marriage and let go for now. He probably needs space and therapy as he seems to be suffering from inferiority complex. There’s nothing wrong in a woman being the breadwinner as long as there’s care and support from the other party. – Omodele Precious, Public Health, 300l

Let her divorce. She is not happy in the marriage and that’s very bad. Imagine she says she doesn’t care again if she doesn’t get married again, she is really pained, she pays for every thing and yet he doesn’t appreciate. What did he use 45 million for? – Pearl Buwa, Accounting 300l

I really don’t know what to say. I kinda feel bad for her though. She should move on with her life and child. – Kini-Abasi Oscar, Accounting 300l

Its really sad. I really don’t know because this is a marital issue and she said she has had enough and he has been sleeping with other women that’s enough to leave that man to himself. – Victor, Medical Laboratory Science 300l

Tbillz ex-boo and mother of his first two children is having the last laugh (photos)

Tiwa Savage’s fairy tale wedding did not translate into a fairy tale married life
When Tiwa Savage and Tunji Balogun aka Tee Billz had a glamorous and fairy-tale wedding ceremony in far away Dubai states on April 26, 2014, many insiders knew that there was no way a  fairy tale married life would follow suit and it turned out right.

Why?

There were signs.
 wpid-tiwa-savage
Tunji abandoned his partner of several years and 2 kids for Tiwa, what did she expect? Karma is  bitch...she brought this upon herself and she should brazen up, why did she open her arms wide to welcome another woman's man...she should have seen him as a failure to that woman and her children..but she left them hanging in the cold to be longing for the love of their father, played the "I don't give a damn'' slogan and went on to marry him, so now it is her turn to deal with it. Do unto others what you want them to do to you.

If someone shows you who they are, believe them the first time. I believe he did that when he left the mother of his kids for her.

Well bygone is now bygone but interestingly, a friend of Tunji Balogun's ex-boo, shared this on IG for her this morning.

"Always stay gracious the best revenge is your paper" I know you seeing the madness your children's father has come again we knew they time will come, them tables always turn, your blessed"

Recall that in 2015,Tunji Balogun posted a picture of his daughter. Olabisi on Instagram and wrote her a cute message. His pop star wife Tiwa Savage also did same with a heart-warming message which reads: ‘Daddy’s little angel. Happy birthday Olabisi Sheree Balogun … We celebrate you today and always princess’

But Tee Billz’s ex, Kenea Maete Udoh, who happens to be the mother of Bisi reacted saying
‘I never comment on any of this nonsense but enough is enough. Maybe i could honor this shot out if Bisi knew you. Did you even call her and say happy birthday? is this for her or your image?’

Well, it's about a year after and Kenea seems to be having the last laugh!
Check out these new photos of Kenea and her two kids below:

Your interview is going to make TBillz more suicidal' Freeze open letter to TIWA

A lot of people have had something to say since Tiwa Savage's tell-all interview where she accused her husband of being an addict, debtor, fraudulent and a cheat.

OAP Freeze who earlier sympathized with the couple after Tee Billz's outburst has addressed Tiwa's interview saying her interview would make her husband more suicidal because of the things she accused him of

Read the full write up below

Dear Tiwa,

I have nothing but love for you, but after I watched all 45 mins or so of your interview, I am a bit disappointed.

Tiwa, I know it hurts when a relationship breaks down, and those accusations T Billz made were extremely hurtful, nonetheless, I believe you could have employed caution when responding, since according to you, he was unstable and suicidal. In law, if for instance, you walk in on your man in bed with another woman and you shoot him on the spot, you could get a lighter sentence, if your legal counsel argues provocation. On the flip side, if you walk out of the scene to get a gun and then launch an attack, it's now considered premeditated.

The fact that you granted a 'pitch perfect' interview, with a flawless visual background and superb audio quality, in my opinion looks a bit premeditated.

If you had denied all his accusations and asked to swear on ayelala or amadioha or sango as against the lie detector test, since on no instance has a polygraph ever been used in Nigeria, and if afterwards you had requested for privacy, as you deal with such a sensitive issue, this matter would have been laid to rest. How are you going to tell Nigerians not to talk about issues you 'used your own hand' to make public? This could only serve to further delay your healing.

Even though my prayer is for your issues to be resolved and for joy to return to your home, the breakdown of a marriage is not the end of the world, I have been through it and my world did not end. However, do you realize that the interview you gave could lead to the end of TJ's world? Who is now going to hire, work with, or have any business dealings with an unstable, adulterous, fraudulent, cocaine sniffer who cannot manage money and has his priorities misplaced? Whether you like it or not, that is what the interview has delineated him to be. In furtherance to this, if he was suicidal before, this interview is only going to make him even more suicidal!

I know you both love Jamil so in all this drama, lets be very careful to shield him, as the Internet never forgets and his friends and classmates will always have his father's tweets along with your interview as points of reference.

Lady accused of being Edible Catering comes out to deny allegations

It all started when, after Tiwa Savage's tell interview broke, a social media user under 'Anonymous' went around blogs posting what you see below.

Trust Nigerians to immediately go on the hunt. People went investigating and traced the accused lady, Tenny Coco to her Instagram page. Coincidentally or not, she had shaded Tiwa Savage on her page.

In light of this, social media have now christened Tenny Coco, the so-called 'Edible Caterer', Tee Billz' alleged side chick who allegedly knocked him out in bedmatics, and was calling him in his matrimonial home in the middle of the night.

Tenny Coco has come out to set the records straight and deny her involvement with Tee Billz.

Read what she wrote below

The argument is still raging on, though. Some have said it is normal to deny, while others who claim to be in the know are insisting she is truly the now infamous Edible Caterer.

The drama continues...

Towed Car Mysteriously Vanishes From LASTMA Compound, Owner Cries Out

A businessman, Abiodun Richards, has asked the Lagos State Government to produce his Honda Accord which was towed from his residence on Imaria Close, in the Anthony area of the state.
Richards said the vehicle was first moved by an official of the Kosofe Local Government Area, identified only as Ijiade.
Ijiade reportedly claimed that he moved the vehicle, together with an official of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority to the agency's headquarters at Oshodi.
When the owner of the car got to the Oshodi office and checked the records, he was said to have confirmed that the vehicle was moved in on October 14, 2014.
However, the vehicle could not be found on the premises of LASTMA.
Richards, who is based in Rivers State, said there was no record that the car had been moved out or sold.
He told Punch Metro that he had been diagnosed with stroke at the time his car was towed and he had travelled to Port Harcourt for treatment.
He said, "I started living in Anthony Village in May 2013; I was staying with a friend on Imaria Close. I went there with my green Honda Accord, with number plate, BT 398 KSF. Imaria Close is a gated community and it does not have more than 14 houses. Most residents park by the roadside.
"In November 2013, I travelled to Port Harcourt after I fell ill. I was bedridden. I was called by my friend that the state government had ordered that vehicles parked by the roadside be removed by their owners or they would be towed by the government.
"In August 2014, I sent my cousin, who was in Lagos to go and remove the car, but he said he could not make it. I later sent another person in October, and he said he could not find the car. I was surprised and I decided to come myself to know what happened."
He said he travelled back to Rivers State when he could not find the car and efforts to locate it proved abortive.
Richards said while making enquiries, he got information that a council officer, Ijiade, moved the car from the street.
He said he returned to Lagos and started searching for his car in all council parks.
"I checked all Kosofe parks where they keep towed vehicles; I checked Ogudu and Oworonshoki, but I didn't find it. After searching for more than two weeks, I was told to check LASTMA offices. I checked all their offices and yards at Oshodi and Anthony, without any result.
"During the search, somebody connected me with Ijiade, whom I had been looking for. He told me that he called someone from LASTMA and the car was taken to Oshodi," he added.
He said he returned to LASTMA office at Oshodi and checked its three yards without any success.
"On Friday, February 29, 2016, Ijiade said he was going to LASTMA's office to confirm what happened to my car. He gave me the date the car was taken there as October 14, 2014.
"The next day, March 1, I went to check the records with the help of a senior officer. We discovered in their records that the car was brought in on that date, and was never taken out. When we checked the LASTMA yards again, it was not there. The senior officer asked the security officers to check, but they did and did not find it.
"I want the government to produce my car. I have some personal documents in the boot and I just bought three brand new tyres in the car. The car was in perfect condition and I want to know what happened to it," he said.
Ijiade could not be reached on his mobile phone.
The General Manager of LASTMA, Chris Olakpe, urged the complainant to write to the management of the agency, saying there was no way anybody would take the car out.
He said, "Tell him to write to the LASTMA CEO; I can assure you that the vehicle cannot be moved out of the yard without authorisation. We will investigate it."
