Igbonla Kidnap: Excitement As Students & Parents Reunite

Parents of the six kidnapped students of the Lagos State Model College, Igbonla, Epe, were hugely relieved today reuniting with them, after more than two months of anxiety.

The reunion came exactly 65 days after the students were captured from their school by armed abductors, 20 of whom were killed in a gun duel with the police on Friday, in the creeks of Ondo State.

The freed boys are Peter Jonah, Isiaka Rahmon, Adebayo George, Judah Agbausi, Pelumi Philips and Farouq Yusuf. Mr Moruf Ramon, whose 19-year-old son, Isiaka, was among the rescued students commended the Lagos State Government and the Nigerian Police for their efforts.

“’I am so happy with what is happening today and I want to appreciate the Lagos State Government and the Commissioner of Police for all they have done to secure the release of our children.

“’I have been the one talking with the kidnappers all the time and the police were always with us to get information that could help to facilitate the rescue operations.

“We pray that this kind of incident will not occur again in Lagos State or even Nigeria as a whole,’’ he said.

Jealous man gives girlfriend 'rulebook' then cheats with 4 other women

A jealous man gave the girl he'd been seeing for six months a 'rule book' before a Magaluf girls' holiday - but ended up having sex with four women while she was away.

Josh Utting, 20, told 18-year-old Lucy that she wasn't allowed to talk to, look at or take photographs with other boys, take drugs or be a wing-man to her pals.

Exposing the bullet point list on Twitter, Ashleigh Greenway wrote: "Josh Utting is an absolute PSYCHO, imagine writing a list of rules for Lucy and he's not even with her. 'No eye contact'. IMAO."

Josh - who has been branded a "weirdo" and "abusive" - claims the demands were a joke and wasn't meant to be taken seriously.

He told UNILAD: "It wasn't fully sent as a joke - obviously I didn't want her to get with other lads on holiday. I just made the rules sound extreme for a laugh."
Josh claims that when he sent it to her, Lucy agreed to the rules and said they seemed fair enough as long as he stuck to the same things when he was on holiday.
Lucy said: “We were seeing each other for about 5/6 months then stopped due to him sleeping with others girls while seeing me.
“Then we were going to try again because he told me he was in love with me – he made the rules for us to both stick to while on holiday."..She went on to say that she stuck to the rules and he slept with four girls in a week.
But Josh has since said he was 'drunk' when he got with the other women and regrets doing it.(UK Mirror)

You Sacrificed Your Left Leg To The Devil To Become Governor - Fani Kayode slamsRochas.

Police kill a plumber, dump his body in morgue for two years

Late Adegoke, a plumbing engineer, reportedly left where he had gone to work for a family around Wuse area of Abuja on Thursday, August 27, 2015, heading for his Soka home along Airport road, when the unexpected happened.
Crime Guard gathered that while driving home, policemen at Area 1 shopping complex, flagged his vehicle down but he refused to stop, an action that allegedly led to the policemen releasing bullets on the moving vehicle. One of the bullets was said to have hit Adegoke in the neck, thereby forcing the car to stop abruptly:

Narrating  how news of his demise was eventually broken, devastated Oluwatosin said :“The last time I spoke with my husband was on August 25th 2015, during which he told me he would be coming to see us at the end of the month. I called again on 27th but the phone was busy. By the time I dialled his number on August 28, 2015, it was completely switched off. “Tension heightened after his mechanic said that my husband brought one of his cars two weeks before then, to his workshop for repairs but he had not seen him since then. I begged him to go to his house to check if he was sick. When he got there, he said that his doors were under lock and keys. “At that point, we resorted to prayers until two months later when the mechanic called to inform me that my husband was sick and was admitted at the hospital. He requested for telephone number of any of his male relatives and I gave him that of his elder brother. My fears were confirmed as I was asked to come to Abuja, only to be told that my husband was shot by some policemen. My world came crashing at that point. We were taken to the FCT command, Gariki , where a policeman who claimed to be the Investigating Police Officer, IPO, told us to visit the mortuary to identify my husband. I went with our first son, Jesuloba, but I could not go inside the mortuary. Our son went inside and identified one of the bodies as my husband's";

Adegoke's body is still in a morgue in Abuja. His widow stated that the Police simply told her to go and pick the body for burial. In tears, she told Crime Guard that she had no money to pay the mortuary bill, let alone to transport the corpse to Lagos for burial. of She stated
“When we went back to the command to know what the next move was, the IPO simply told us to go and carry the body for burial. I was too shocked to react. They did not even show us the policeman that fired the shot that snuffed life out of my husband. All they said was that my husband refused to stop when he was ordered to. Is that enough to kill a man?” she asked.

Since the tragic incident occurred, life has never been the same for Adegoke’s widow who has been saddled with the responsibility of fending for their five children alone. The pang of the bread winner’s death seems to be having a harsh toll on the children as two of the them could not complete their third term in secondary education, following inability of their mother to pay the fees.

The most dangerous sex styles revealed

Men are at greatest risk of suffering a “broken penis” when having sex doggy style, experts warn.

It comes just ahead of the missionary position. The third most likely cause is “overzealous masturbation”, followed by the cowgirl, where the woman straddles her fella.Men in their 20s and 30s are most likely to suffer due to better fitness and firmer erections.

In one case, US doctors in Seattle treated a patient who had tried to penetrate his wife with a flying leap! The most risky sex positions were drawn up by Brazilian researchers after quizzing 90 victims.

Saudi Arabia gives illegal migrants one more month to leave the country

Saudi Arabia has extended its amnesty programme by a month for undocumented migrants to leave as the first extension ended on July 24.

Saudi Arabia announced in March 2017, a three month amnesty programme for undocumented foreign migrants to voluntarily leave the country before the amnesty’s expiration on June 24.

However, Saudi Arabia gave a one-month extension which ended July 24 to provide more time to undocumented foreign migrants to voluntarily return to their home countries.

Ethiopia has one of the highest numbers of undocumented migrants in Saudi Arabia with the government undertaking vigorous campaign to return undocumented Ethiopian migrants back home.

So far about 70,000 undocumented Ethiopians living in Saudi Arabia have returned home with another 60,000 undocumented Ethiopians having registered at Ethiopian diplomatic missions in Saudi Arabia to return.

Customs seizes 140 snakes and 600 other animals imported from Cameroon(Photo)

The Nigeria Customs Service on Wednesday intercepted three consignments containing 140 species of snakes and 660 other animals imported into Nigeria from Cameroon.

The containers were brought in aboard a Cameroonian vessel tagged ‘MV Flesh’ through the Calabar waterway to the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA) jetty in Calabar, Cross River State.

The other animals which were identified as geckos, millipedes, hairy frogs and spiders, were said to be worth N6.9m.

Customs Area Comptroller in charge of Calabar Free Trade Zone, Cross River and Akwa Ibom Command, Nanbyen Burromvyat, without opening the containers for possible fear of escape, immediately handed over the items and the two suspects arrested to authorities of the Nigerian Agricultural Quarantine Services for further investigations.

She said,
“These containers have animals of different sizes. They were brought in on July 24, 2017, through this Calabar waterway. The consignment was spotted by our vigilant officers and they contain live animals which are a prohibition under Schedule 3 of our revised import prohibition list.
“Live animals are a prohibition. There is no provision for permit to bring them in. We are seizing them and hand the containers over to the Nigerian Quarantine Services for further necessary action.
“I do not know what they want to do with it but I think that it will be dangerous for us because it contains snake, spider, geckos and other creatures. We have enough snakes around Nigeria already and it will be suspicious importing this. I do not know what to think because I do not know what they can be used for.”

The arrested agent who brought in the consignment from Cameroon,  Julius Novigana, said they were given to him by a friend to deliver to someone in Lagos.

“A friend gave it to me in Cameroon to deliver to someone in Lagos. I only have the man’s number in Lagos. I have called him and he said he would send someone to come and pick it up from me here in Calabar. I did not know what was contained in the big cartons; my assignment was to deliver the consignment. I do not know the names of the person in Lagos,” he said.

Meanwhile, Captain of the vessel that brought the consignment, Victor Agbor, also a Cameroonian, said he did not spot the containers when he was about leaving his country.

“I did not see these containers on the vessel when I left Cameroon. The name of my vessel is MV Flesh and we bring in passengers and general cargo from Cameroon to Nigeria. I never saw this container on board before leaving; they only called my attention to it that there were some containers without manifestoes in the vessel. I do not have any idea about it,” he said.''

French Mayor Eats RAT After Losing Bet On Barcelona

Barcelona 's miraculous Champions League comeback against Paris Saint-Germain last season forced a French mayor to eat a RAT after a bet backfired.

With PSG hammering Barca 4-0 in the first leg of their last-16 encounter, Charles Dayot of Mont-de-Marsan — a commune in southwestern France — took to Facebook to announce he would gobble down the unappetising dish if the Ligue 1 giants were dumped out.

But Dayot was left with no choice other than to swallow his pride along with a cooked rodent when Barcelona completed the unlikeliest of victories.

Although the Spanish giants led the second leg 2-0 at half-time, the bullish mayor was far from ratty as PSG appeared likely to score at least once at the Nou Camp.

A 50th-minute Lionel Messi penalty left him biting his fingernails but Edison Cavani netted just after the hour mark to leave the Spanish giants facing an uphill battle once again to turn the tie in their favour.

However, Messi and Co refused to throw in the towel and two late goals from Neymar — one a penalty — were followed by a last-gasp strike from Sergi Roberto.

With Barca winning 6-1 on the night and 6-5 on aggregate, Dayot was left facing the horrifying fact that he would have to munch on vermin.

And although it took him a while to stay true to his promise considering the tie was decided in March, he donned a PSG shirt as a napkin to tuck into is rat dish on Sunday.

He even went as far as to suggest the unusual cuisine actually tasted like rabbit — proving there really is no accounting for taste.

Buhari is back to life, walked without support, cracked jokes-Governors

Ebonyi State Governor Dave Umahi last night described the recovery of President Muhammadu Buhari as “a miracle” given reports on his health in the social media. He said the social media portrayed the President’s health as “bad”.

According to The Nation, Umahi of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), spoke  to NTA news after the visit of seven Governors to the President in London.

Umahi said

“Buhari walked without support to receive us and he took time to exchange pleasantries with each one of us. We also had a group photograph.”
“His voice was the usual intonation and he has no speech inhibition in whatsoever manner. He was overwhelmed by our visit.
“He told us that he is ready to come back to his desk once clearance is given by his doctors.
“We compared notes on the state of the nation and the tasks ahead.
“The signs of recovery were visible but not overwhelming on him. He was looking healthier than when he came back the last time. Buhari is back to life.”
Another governor in the delegation said the President cracked jokes with the delegation without any speech inhibition.

EFCC recovers N328.9b from Conoil, Forte Oil, NNPC, Oando

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) says it has recovered N328.9 billion from nine major oil marketers in one year, overdue payments  for oil products lifted by the firms.

Spokesman of the commission, Mr Wilson Uwujaren, disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday in Abuja.

Uwujaren identified the marketers as NNPC Retail, Conoil Plc, Total Plc, OVH Energy Plc, Oando Plc, Forte Oil and Gas Plc, Mobil Plc, MRS Oil Plc, and NIPCO Oil Plc.

He said the recovery was made by the Kano office of the commission between July 2016 and July 2017.

According to him, the recovery followed a petition against the management of the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) and its subsidiary, Pipelines and Product Marketing Company (PPMC).

He said the petition alleged that N40 billion had been diverted by the major oil marketers in connivance with the leadership of the NNPC and PPMC.

“The EFCC, in a swift reaction, referred the petition to a special task force which swung into action by conducting discrete investigation.
“Findings by the operatives of the EFCC revealed that the oil marketers were actually indebted to the Federal Government of Nigeria to the tune of N91.5 billion between 2010 and 2016.
“Further investigation into the allegation also revealed that the oil marketers had continued to obtain petroleum products from the government without proper payment, in violation of the NNPC/PPMC credit facility regulations.
“A probe of which further led to the discovery of N258.9 billion.’’

Uwujaren explained that the total amount of debt stood at N349.8 billion following the latter discovery.

He further said that upon conclusion of the preliminary investigation, officials of NNPC/PPMC and all the managing directors of the companies concerned were invited to the Kano zonal office of the commission.

There, he added, their statements were recorded following which the recovery process began.

“So far, a sum of N328.9 billion has been recovered from the major oil marketers. The outstanding debt now stands at N20.7 billion,’’ he said.(NAN)

Buhari’s Recovery Is A Miracle, Says Ebonyi Gov

The Governor of Ebonyi State, Mr. Dave Umahi, has described the rate of the recovery of President Muhammadu Buhari as a miracle.

Umahi, who is one of the seven governors that visited the President in London yesterday night, told one of Punch correspondents on the telephone from London, that he and his colleagues were surprised with the level of his (President) recovery.

Apart from Umahi, others governors in the entourage  are  Udom Emmanuel (Akwa Ibom);  Abdulaziz Yari (Zamfara); Abiola Ajimobi (Oyo); Samuel Ortom (Benue); Umar Ganduje (Kano); and Kashim Shettima (Borno).

Six of the  governors were chosen based on the six geo-political zones in the country while the governor of Zamfara State was picked because of his position as the chairman of the Nigeria Governors Forum.

Umahi, who was one of the two governors from the opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party, said that it was difficult for members of the opposition to believe what they were being told by the handlers of the President that he was getting better.

He, however, said that he was happy, just like the other six governors, that the President was making progress and that he had improved very well.

The governor said the President would soon return to the country as soon as his doctors certified him alright.

He said, “We met a cheerful President whose level of recovery is a miracle. We know he will soon return home as soon as his doctors certify him to do so. What he’s treating is not mere malaria that we can say he will return today or tomorrow.

“However, we are happy and we thank God for what we saw. It is contrary to the pictures people are painting on the social media. The President we saw is recuperating well and we are happy for that.

“It is even better that, we as members of the opposition party, are among the entourage. Nigerians should continue to pray for the President. “

Asked whether the President told them the likely date of his return, he said no, adding that there was no need to be too expectant, saying that the Acting President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo (SAN), was doing a good job.

“We don’t need to panic because we have a hardworking acting President who is doing a fantastic job. All we need to do as Nigerians is to continue to pray for the President,” the governor added.

Diezani lavished $144m on furniture, artworks — US

The United States of America has revealed how embattled former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke, allegedly squandered about $144m, using part of the funds to purchase a yacht, landed properties, furniture and artworks.

According to a 91-page “verified complaint” filed by the US Government before the US District Court, Southern District of Texas, Houston Division, while she was in charge of the oil ministry, Diezani, lived a lavish and privileged lifestyle,” spending “more than one million dollars on furniture, artwork, and other furnishings purchased within the Southern District of Texas, and shipped, in part, to London and Abuja, Nigeria.”

They are hereby seeking an order to forfeit funds and assets worth $144m linked to Diezani.

The US, in the “verified complaint” signed by a special agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Elizabeth Crispino, said Diezani allegedly acquired the assets with kickbacks from “an international conspiracy to obtain lucrative business opportunities in the Nigerian oil and gas sector.”

The assets, the US stated, were acquired between April 2010 and May 2015 when Diezani was “overseeing Nigeria’s state-owned oil company, the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation.”

Among the properties, which the US now seeks to be forfeited, are a 65-metre motor yacht, named M/Y Galactica Star; two properties known as 807 and 815 Cima Del Mundo Road, Montecito, Calif; as well as funds in a couple of companies.

Crispino said Diezani’s assets were liable to being forfeited “under 18 U.S.C. § § 981(a)(1)(A) and 981(a)(1)(C),”.

Crispino stated that “Section 1956(a)(2) prohibits transferring funds known to be the proceeds of unlawful activity from a place outside the United States to a place in the United States, with knowledge that the transfer is designed in whole or in part to conceal the nature, location, source, ownership, or control of the proceeds of a specified unlawful activity, including the proceeds of an offense against a foreign nation involving ‘bribery of a public official, or the misappropriation, theft, or embezzlement of public funds by or for the benefit of a public official.”

Lagos Announces Cholera Outbreak As 2 Die

Two persons have been confirmed dead, while 25 other are receiving treatment in hospitals following an outbreak of cholera in three local government areas of Lagos state.

The Lagos State Government at a press conference in Alausa yesterday said the cases came like the typical diarrhoea and vomiting associated with cholera.

It added that the outbreak was due to the heavy rainfall being experienced and the aftermath of flooding in the state.

The Commissioner for Health, Dr Jide Idris, stated that the outbreak had been traced to the Somolu, Oshodi-Isolo, and Surulere local government areas.
