Very Graphic Photos: ISIS Terror group smashes thieves’ heads with concrete blocks as part of sick brand of justice

ISIS have been pictured dropping concrete blocks onto the head of two thieves as a retribution for their crimes.
Watched by a massive crowd, the masked killers slammed the blocks of stone onto the men’s heads in ‘qisas’ – meaning ‘eye for an eye’ – retribution.

The militants raise their hands to the sky as the blocks rain down on the men, who are bound and had their heads hung over a kerb.

They had reportedly robbed and murdered women in the Nineveh province in northern Iraq.
The notoriously media-savvy organisation released the images on social media which were shared by ISIS supporters

PDP MAKES ME LAUGH

by Terfa Naswem
BAN ON AIT FOR COVERAGE OF PRESIDENT ELECT GENERAL BUHARI'S ACTIVITIES: Francis Erhuen, just like I have noticed, noticed the hypocrisy of PDP on Buhari decision on AIT....

When I read the story by PDP published on online premium Times on April 28, 2015 titled: AIT BAN DANGEROUS FOR DEMOCRACY—PDP, I was wondering if some people listen to themselves whenever they talk and could just forget recent past so soon.

I agree that ban on media is dangerous for democracy and we as journalists believe in a government that gives the media the freedom to work without unnecessary interference, but if such condemnation came from another group aside PDP, it would have been understood. But as far as I am concerned, PDP has no moral justification to condemn Buhari’s ban on AIT from covering his activities when it has done terrible harm to the media.

The same PDP that is condemning Buhari’s ban on AIT as being dangerous for democracy has done worst things to the media as Francis Erhuen has made it clear:

Under PDP and Jonathan Government in 2013, two Leadership newspaper reporters were detained for days for publishing a Presidential directive. Under PDP and Jonathan Government Six reporters from the Nation newspaper were detained for Publishing OBJ's Letter to President Goodluck Jonathan.

Under PDP and Jonathan Government In June 2014, men of the Millitary & SSS Seized and destroyed Copies of major newspapers, stopping Circulation. Under PDP and Jonathan Government in March 2015, two AL Jezeera Journalists Covering elections in Borno state were held in Custody for weeks for no Reason. Under PDP and Jonathan Government In 2014, AIG Joseph Mbu ordered the Arrest of AIT Journalist Ameachi Anakwe for calling him controversial.

Well I am not surprise because PDP always make me laugh when it comes to issues like this.

Those PDP members who blame or judge Buhari for banning AIT should first put their house in order before putting someone else’s. Buhari's decision on AIT was right because it was just a warning to other media organizations to uphold professionalism in journalism.

I became blind after drinking ogogoro- Ode-Irele suvivor

One of the survivors of the Ode-Irele methanol poisoning, Mr. Olorunwa Jero, yesterday, recounted his ordeal in the throes of death.Jero, a father of six, who is a vulcaniser, narrated:
“By the time I was brought here, I had gone blind. I could not identify my wife, I could not identify anything. I did not even know when I arrived here.“But I thank God and the management and staff of University College Hospital, UCH, for bailing me out. I can see all of you here clearly. I can even identify the clothes each one of you is putting on.”
The victims were said to have taken the methanol while consuming a local gin.
Confirming that the toxin was detected in the blood and urine of the victims, Professor Temitope Alonge, Chief Medical Director, UCH, said the five victims were transferred to the teaching hospital on April 18 adding that they had regained their lost sight as a result of taking the chemical.

Alonge, who said this while speaking with newsmen in Ibadan, warned people to be wary of taking local gin so as to avoid similar unpleasant experience.

A nine-year-old boy, identified only as Kingsley, was on Thursday abandoned at a filling station at Adetola bus stop on Ijaiye Road, Agbado, Lagos State, by his mother.

It was learnt that the mother, Blessing, allegedly tortured him for greeting a neighbour.

She was said to have brought the boy from Ojuelegba, where they live and dumped him at the station around 7am.
Punch Metro gathered that Blessing left the area after telling the child that she wanted to buy some items at a nearby shop.

Some Good Samaritans, however, later bought food for the kid before he was taken to the Ijaiye Police Station around 11am.Kinglsey’s body was full of scars for which he held his mother responsible.
“Mummy beat me because I greeted our neighbour. She and the neighbour are quarrelling and she warned me not to greet her. She beat me with a stick when she saw me with the woman,” Kingsley said.
The primary two pupil said he had been a victim of malnutrition and abuse since his parents divorced each other.
“My mother and I moved to Lagos from Calabar (Cross River State) after she divorced my daddy.“I live in Ojuelegba with her and my stepfather, Jonathan. She beats me every day.
“She will give me lashes for not waking up early to do domestic chores. At times, she won’t give me food to punish me.”
An employee of the filling station, who gave his name only as Deji, lamented Kingsley’s situation. He said the mother would be attacked by an angry mob if she came back.
“I don’t know what the world is turning to. When some families are still praying to have children, a mother is maltreating her own to the point of dumping him. What could he have done to warrant being treated in such a heartless manner?
“This place was crowded in the morning and we did not know when she dumped him. He was sitting in a tricycle when I approached him. Some angry youths just left here. They would have given his mother the beating of her life if she had come back.”
A Good Samaritan, who did not want his name in print, said he saw the boy sitting helplessly in a corner in the filling station. He added that the boy was so hungry that he gulped the food and drink that were bought for him.
He said, “I was coming back from the office and popped over to buy petrol.
“I saw the boy sitting in a corner. There was blood in his head and hands. We decided to buy him rice and a drink. He was taken to the Ijaiye Police Station and they promised to take him to hospital to treat his injuries.”
The Supervisor of the filling station, Adeola Olufunwa, said she was nearly detained at the station on the matter.
She said, “I was the one who noticed the boy’s presence around us and I alerted my colleagues.
“But funny enough, the police wanted to detain me for a case I knew nothing about.”

Man Hangs Self in Uncompleted Building

The building
A young man has been found dead in an uncompleted building on Sefu Elelede Street in the Ibafo area of Ogun State.

PUNCH Metro learnt that the man, whose name had yet to be known, was found hanged by an electrician, identified simply as John, who saw the corpse and raised alarm. He had come to inspect the house.

It was gathered that the deceased, who was found in jeans and shirt, hanged himself in the living room section of the uncompleted structure. His body was bloated when it was discovered.

The owner of the house reported the matter at the Ibafo Police Division and policemen from the division, accompanied by a medical practitioner, visited the building to remove the corpse.

The doctor reportedly confirmed that the man was dead, and had committed suicide in the building
for about five days before the discovery.

When PUNCH Metro visited the area, the landlady, who identified herself simply as Okpute, said she had sent the electrician to inspect the structure for necessary electrification work, adding that the worker rushed back to inform her about the gory sight.

She said:
“On Wednesday, I called John to inspect my structure and give me the estimate on electrification work of the house. I gave him the key to the compound. The building is fenced and it is a storey building.
To my surprise, he ran back after some minutes, gasping for breath. He told me that a young man had hanged himself inside the uncompleted house.
We both went there together and found the man. Then, I went to the police to make a report and they also visited the place. I have never seen such a horrible thing in my life.”

Community leader in Sefu Elelede, Chief Jimoh Morenikeji, and other landlords visited the building to identify who the deceased was, but his face was said to be unfamiliar.

Morenikeji said that his community members would work with the police to investigate the matter.
“This is strange. We do not know the young man. We will work with the police to get to the root of the matter,” he said.
It was gathered that the corpse had been deposited in a morgue in the area.

The Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Muyiwa Adejobi, confirmed the incident. He said the police had yet to ascertain the identity of the young man, adding that his corpse had been put in a morgue. .

Jeffrey Okafor who Killed CBBC Presenter Guilty of Murder in UK

Jeffrey
A man who stabbed a CBBC actor to death outside a nightclub in central London has been found guilty of murder.

Jeffrey Okafor, 24, attacked Carl Beatson Asiedu in Vauxhall in August 2009 when a late-night row escalated into violence. The court was told he confessed to his girlfriend before fleeing to Nigeria using his brother's passport.

Mr Beatson Asiedu, who appeared in the CBBC series M.I. High, was also a part-time DJ known as DJ Charmz.
  • DNA found on gloves

On the night he was killed he was with friends and had performed a set at the Club Life nightclub near Vauxhall station. Outside the club he and his friends were approached by a larger group of men,
which included Okafor, and an argument broke out.
Carl
The court heard it was at this time the DJ became separated from his friends and was stabbed by Okafor. A post-mortem examination concluded the cause of Mr Beatson Asiedu's death was a single stab wound to the front of the chest.

Sarah Whitehouse QC, prosecuting, told Woolwich Crown Court:
"After the attack, Jeffrey Okafor actually confessed to a girlfriend that he had stabbed Carl Beatson."
Okafor confessed in a phone call within an hour of the attack and days later he told the same woman that he had stabbed the DJ in the stomach. She said he gave her a pair of black gloves to look after which were later passed to police.

DNA which may have come from the victim was found on one of the gloves.

The prosecution said four days later Okafor boarded a flight from Heathrow Airport to Lagos using his brother's passport. He was extradited from Nigeria in November.

Okafor, of East Dulwich, south-east London, is due to be sentenced on Friday.

FG plotting to sabotage smooth handover – APC

The All Progressives Congress, APC, yesterday accused the out-going President Goodluck Jonathan administration of plotting to hinder a smooth handover of power to the President-elect, General Muhammadu Buhari (retd) on May 29. President Goodluck Jonathan had, on Wednesday, accused the APC of acting like a parallel government and trying to stampede his administraton out of office by making impossible demands in the terms of reference of the President-elect’s transition committee.

Briefing newsmen after the Federal Executive Council meeting on Wednesday, Minister of National Planning, Abubakar Suleiman, a member of Jonathan’s transition committee, said the council frowned at the terms of reference of the in-coming government and warned that the President’s magnanimity should not be construed as cowardice. He said the council agreed that Dr Goodluck Jonathan remains the President of the country until May 29 and the in-coming government should avoid creating a parallel government.

Justifying its claim that the Jonathan administration was plotting to hinder a smooth transition of power, APC said: “While the outgoing government had earlier issued a memo to all ministries, departments and agencies to make sure their handover notes are ready by April 20, the same government has now reversed itself and said the handover notes will not be ready until May 14.

“With the new date, the Buhari transition committee will have little or no time to take a thorough look at the handover notes or seek clarification on knotty issues, effectively handing it (Buhari Transition Committee) a fait accompli as far as the handover notes are concerned. This does not augur well for a smooth transition and gives the impression that the outgoing administration is trying to hide something. “By its dilly-dallying on the date for the readiness of the handover notes from the MDAs, the administration’s posturing that it is ready to hand over has been exposed as nothing but a smokescreen.”

Responding yesterday to President Jonathan’s accusation, the APC in a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, said it was becoming apparent that the Jonathan administration will not fully cooperate with the incoming government, despite its public posturing in that regard.

The party also described as “an act of hostility and a patently-misplaced aggression the unnecessary vituperation against the incoming Buhari administration by the Jonathan government, ostensibly because of the terms of reference of the Buhari transition committee but in reality part of an orchestrated plot to sabotage the transition.” It rejected the continued blackmail by the Jonathan administration as a result of President Jonathan’s concession of defeat, wondering whether the concession, gracious as it was, has now become a shield for all wrong doings. The party said: “We are sick and tired of being blackmailed by the Jonathanians.

Gen. Buhari won the March 28th Presidential elections fair and square, having satisfied both constitutional and other statutory requirements. “We have no apology for our victory, and the concession of defeat – while it may have increased the political stock of President Jonathan – has by no means diminished the historic and emphatic victory of Gen. Muhammadu Buhari and the All Progressives Congress.”

Fellow Nigerian slaves: CBN has again decided to limit our freedom to our hard earned money

From $150k a year to $50k year - that's all you can spend now when you travel abroad. Dr Peregrino Brimah of Ends.ng says it's not right. Read his article below...
Dear fellow Nigerian masses,
In response to the spate of governing cabal looting billions of dollars and laundering this via private jets to South Africa and beyond, the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, governed by Godwin Emefiele has again decided that we the people must be punished and deprived of all rights to receive and send our hard earned personal little money for the little business and living necessities we manage.
In an unbelievable but expected new move, the CBN sent the below letter to us with the latest restrictions on our financial freedom.

Dear Valued Client,
The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has in its circular dated 17th April, 2015 condemned the rising trend of currency substitution and dollarization of the economy. Deposit Money Banks operating in Nigeria have been advised to desist from the collection of foreign currencies for payment of domestic transactions on behalf of their customers and the use of their customers’ domiciliary accounts for making payments for visible and invisible transactions (fees, charges, licenses e.t.c) originating and consummated in Nigeria.
In compliance with this directive, you will be required to provide supporting documentation for all payments to and from your domiciliary accounts as proof that payments are not in breach of this directive. Please note that this applies to payments to or from entities/individuals within Nigeria.
Foreigners, visitors and tourists to Nigeria are allowed to continue to use their cards for payments or exchange their foreign currency for local currency at any of the authorised dealers’ outposts including hotels.
Thank you for banking with Standard Chartered Bank. As always, we remain committed to providing you best-in-class financial solutions.
--- END---
As with the other new policy revisions, there was no prior warning. The notice was sent to take effect immediately.
With this new restriction we must explain every penny our family and friends in America wire to us to help them build their houses in Nigeria or to simply save or invest for them in Nigeria; or to pay school fees of their wife and girl friends.
We must explain and defend WITH “PROOF” [supporting documentation] every dollar we wish to send to friends and loved ones abroad or that we receive.
This does not happen anywhere in the world.
We are in prison!
They have forced all our cash into the bank in the cash-less imprisonment system only seen in Nigeria and never seen in any developed nation and now they want to give the banker-cabal the right to pry into our every business and seize our little money at will.
But how about those who carted $15 million in suitcases in private jets to South Africa? How about those wives of governors caught in Bayelsa in 2006 laundering millions? How about the cabal given all types of concessions, intervention funds, with billions of dollars import waivers [N234 billion waivers to PHCN in 2013 only], and never monitored?
We mentioned in our alert just this week [ENDS.ng: CBN Governor Mr. Godwin Emefiele Drives Nigerians Like Slaves] that the CBN under Godwin Emefiele had decided with no warning to suddenly decrease to one-third the forex withdrawal limit and forex purchase limit of our naira cards; on a day notice decreased to $300/day and $50,000 per year.
This adds to a list of limitations to the financial freedom of the masses since the era of the former governor, now Emir Sanusi Lamido Sansui that are not seen in any nation around the world. Below listed is part of the growing list from our article criticizing the former governor for the impingements to the masses in defense of the wallets of the banks and cabal:
Customers pay N10-50 per sms alert, even for bank error repeat texts; though bulk sms texts are offered to businesses by mobile networks at N1/sms.
Hardware token for security is issued at N2000 ($12);
Bank statements are charged at about N40/page;

Renewal ATM card is issued at a charge of N1000 ($6);
N500 monthly maintenance fee for current accounts ($3);
First Bank and Keystone Bank even have a N100 monthly ATM card maintenance fee!
You have the Value added tax—lol at “value.”
Even reference letters are fulfilled at a charge of up to N2000 ($12). Compare this to America for instance, where banks do not make money on COT, deposits or withdrawals and most of these additional bank services are offered for free to customers.
ENDS warned about Godwin Emefiele when Jonathan first appointed him in February of last year, that being a banker/banks man, expect him to lock us helpless masses in Guantanamo prisons while the banks, cabal and government officials bloat on our misery. Read that on ENDS.ng: “A Banks Man: Expect Higher Charges with Godwin Emefiele as New CBN Gov.”

We have been proven correct. There is no one ot defend the interests of the masses against these monsters. Godwin meets with bankers and they rise from meetings with new insane and never before seen on the planet, decisions to restrict our freedom and we are never consulted or represented.
Without allowing us adjust to one deprivation and limitation, they add another and another on it. Even communist China is better to its people than these vile, vicious vampires in this kakistocratic republic.

As Godwin’s tenure comes to an end, he is in a hurry to raise the prison walls and build a moat around it so we the 100 million destitute Nigerian masses living under a dollar a day, and millions other poor and managing small businesses will never see the light of financial stability and opportunities and the little happiness we pursue.

Because new technology and the expected new Integrity government is anticipated to further inhibit the looting of the Nigerian oil wealth, the thieves who all now own one big corporation or the other in Nigeria are finalizing their systems of stealing from the incapacitated and imprisoned slave masses.
One day we will eat them.

Why I flaunt my cellulite -Iggy Azaela

Rapper Iggy Azaela has received a lot of criticism  over her body ..The star who recently had a boob job tells WHO magazine she has cellulite and is not ashamed of it.She also says her butt is 100 percent real
It's important people see celebrities, or see me as well, go to the beach and have cellulite and know it, like "I'm cool, I'm OK with that and I still feel confident"
I don't want to surgery-shame or Botox-shame women, either. 'It's that balance of being confident with who you are, but also if you do want to change something, if you want to dye your hair or if you want to get breast implants and that makes you happy, I don't think you should be ashamed.
Of course the butt is mine. I heard it's not a real butt, I've heard it's a number of things. I heard sometimes it's my underpants. I heard it's implants. All kinds of crazy things.

Igbo People, Reduce Bride Price So Our Men Can Get Married

Former Military governor of old Anambra State, Col. Robert Akonobi (rtd), has pleaded with Igbo parents to reduce the bride price of their daughters so that "our young boys can marry."

Speaking at the industrial city of Nnewi, Anambra State during the traditional wedding ceremony of the daughter of a business mogul, Chief Louis Onwugbenu, Onyinye and her husband, Bosah
Chukwuogo, at the weekend, Col. Akonobi said:
"To me, this topic (bride price) has been dealt with in the past by Ndigbo, who came out
with a reduced bride price, to enable our young boys marry our young girls.”

Akonobi also cautioned that men should study their proposed wives closely and longer before engaging into marriage because “once you marry, no one else can put asunder.”

The issue of high bride price was discussed extensively. The bride's father, Chief Onwugbenu said:
“We do not charge money as bride price for someone to marry my daughter. To me, what is important is that my daughter should live in peace with her husband. Let her husband’s family members accept her as part and parcel of their family.”

PHOTOS: African toy boy threathens to go on hunger strike if his 88-yr old wife isn't released to him

An African toyboy husband got a shock when he took his 88-year-old British wife to a care home for respite - and social workers refused to hand her back.
Ousman Jatta, 45, married Beryl in the Gambia 13 years ago and moved to the UK with her when she became ill in 2006.The devoted hubby dropped her off at a care home in February for respite while he took a well-deserved three-week break to his native Africa.

But when he went to pick her up he was told social services had intervened and ruled his dementia-suffering wife couldn't return home with him.

Devastated Ousman has threatened to go on a hunger strike if Bristol City Council don't hand back his wife who he says has pleaded to return home

The supermarket security worker said:

"They have used their power against me to keep my wife in a nursing home against her and my wishes.I care for her better than anyone and I feel very sad.Every time I go to the Gambia I contact social services for respite, but they never told me they were going to keep my wife.To me Beryl is not old, she is a human being and no matter if she is old or young she is my wife.I would never neglect Beryl.I love Beryl.I'm feeling bad to see her in a nursing home whilst I am ready to look after my own wife.
"As soon as I came to this country I'm looking after her and nothing has happened to her.
"I don't say that the nursing home is bad but to me the belief I have is that you take a person to a home if that person has no-one to look after her but as far as Beryl is concerned, I am ready to look after her until God finalises."

Retired shop worker Beryl moved to the Gambia more than 17 years ago and met Ousman when he helped translate for her in a local shop.
The pair became firm friends and dated for four years before they got married in 2002.
But they were forced to come back to the UK when she fell ill and doctors advised the mum-of-two would get better treatment at her home in Bristol.

It was a weekend so I called social services on Monday morning and the only thing they told me was they thought I was tired and this and that and that I had left her.I have said in the past that I am tired and that some time in the future I might need to leave her, but I have never abandoned Beryl.I have access to her when I go to the nursing home to see Beryl but as far as I'm concerned it's not the best place for her to be.I promised to myself and to God I shall never let her down.Beryl is my first priority.I am used to Beryl - we are used to each other. When I finish work at 10 o'clock she will not go to bed and tells her carers she is waiting for her husband."

PDP Leaders Conspired with APC to Sack Jonathan – Senator

Senator Suleiman Adoke, the PDP member representing Nasarawa South in the senate, has claimed that ranking members of the PDP at the federal and state levels actively connived with the APC leadership to ensure victory for the party in the last general elections, including the presidency.

Senator Adoke who spoke with journalists in Abuja, described it as an institutional conspiracy, adding that the high level of betrayal suffered by Jonathan was unprecedented.
He said, “I maintain that there is a complete institutional conspiracy to shift the government from the PDP to the APC at all cost. Virtually everybody participated in this movement across the political parties."

He said all who contested election on the ticket of PDP, on March 28, suffered same fate with Jonathan.
The senator explained that everybody including non politicians were involved in the movement to get the PDP out of power at all cost, hence no one complained about the issue of faulty card readers and other flaws recorded on the day of the election.

“Infact ranking PDP stalwarts participated in this grand design to effect a change in governance. Even when the ordinary people knew the election was not fair, they looked the other way because everybody was united to make sure that PDP was out of government.

“That can happen in the life of any country where people had enough of a particular ruling party and desperately needed a change without minding how the change would come.

“In my own opinion, this is what happened in Nigeria. We just pray that it is for good.”

Adoke claimed that he was winning his election up to the midnight of Sunday, March 29, and only waiting for the announcement which did not come until Monday evening.

“Let me say categorically that I lost the election due to the active collaboration of the PDP agents, that is what made it very sad.

"My best friends, who I appointed as my agent at the collation centres all sold out. Today they can not look at me in the face, some of them had even run away. It was a massive conspiracy to get me out of office.

“One of my friends is riding the car that I bought for my mother. His case is that of a betrayal that I will never forget in my life. The degree of conspiracy that I encountered was such that cannot adequately addressed by any court of law.”

Someone has compiled a list of Patience Jonathan’s many battles

Mrs. Patience Jonathan
In this piece, OLUSOLA FABIYI recounts the style brought to the political space by the wife of President Goodluck Jonathan, Patience, during the outgoing political dispensation

The wife of President Goodluck Jonathan, Patience, was not a contestant for any political office in the just concluded general election. However, she was more prominent at the various campaigns of her political party, the Peoples Democratic Party, was involved in – during the countdown to the polls.
She was optimistic that her intervention in the campaigns would save from defeat her husband, who was the presidential candidate of the PDP – and whose public rating had plummeted.

Popularly referred to as ‘Mama Peace’ by admirers, Patience was a delight to watch as she danced to various songs by popular musicians on magnificently decorated podiums draped in the party ’s green-white-red flag colours. And she had no patience when lambasting the opposition All Progressives Congress, which was at the receiving end of her outbursts. Indeed, Patience poked direct verbal attacks and innuendos at the presidential candidate of the APC, Muhammadu Buhari.

At a campaign rally organised in collaboration with PDP women in Lokoja, Kogi State, Patience appealed to her audience to vote en masse for the PDP and her husband. She said that Buhari’s brain is dead. Urged to speak further by her supporters who shouted, “Mama Peace, tell them,” she described Buhari as unfit to govern Nigeria.

The retired permanent secretary from Bayelsa State, who is more at home with Pidgin English than Standard English, said, “Wetin e dey find again? E dey drag with im pikin mate,” in Pidgin English. “Old man wey no get brain, him brain don die pata pata.” Shaking her heads with contentment because of the approval she got from the cheering crowd, she further told the crowd that their days of freedom were numbered if they voted Buhari. “If you vote Buhari, na your prison; if you vote APC, na your wahala.” Taunting them about the catchphrase of the APC which is “change,” Patience said, “What is change? Why did you not change things when you were there? Is it now that you want to be doing the things you weren’t doing before?

“Jonathan looked at us and said, ‘Women, I am giving you the position of the Chief Justice of this country.’ Okonjo-Iweala is a woman, Diezani is a woman. 70 per cent of his cabinet is women. He also gave us the opportunity to start enrolling for the regular combatant course at the NDA (Nigerian Defence Academy). He wants continuity because he has vowed to do more. He places Nigerians in his mind and if he says he will do this, he will do it. So what are we looking for? If we women of Nigeria don’t appreciate Goodluck and we are looking for (a) bus conductor? It is left for us.”
Amina Namadi Sambo
Amina Namadi Sambo
After appealing to voters to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards in order to participate in the election, she told them that she did not come to them with empty hands after all. “I thank you very much the people of Kogi. This time around I came to thank you very well. I brought some gifts for you, I brought rice, I brought meat, I brought brocade. I brought many things for you. These things are not for election but to thank you very well.”

In another rally in Calabar, Cross River State, Patience said that anyone chanting “change” should be stoned. “I’m telling you, anyone that comes and tell(s) you change, stone that person. What you did not do in ‘19 kikilili,’ is it now that age has caught up with you that you want to come and change? You can’t change rather you will turn back to a baby.”

At the Akwa Ibom PDP women rally, Patience took time to teach the women the meaning of “corruption.” Her decision to speak on the topic, it was gathered, was informed by the APC’s anti-corruption campaign. In the countdown to the presidential election, especially, the Jonathan administration was accused on many occasions of being weak to wage war on corruption. But Patience said the APC’s promise to fight corruption should be discarded, describing it as a lie.

She said she was at the rally to say the truth. In a peculiar voice, she said, “Akwa Ibom people, judge o, because we are not here for lies. We are not here for propaganda; because their own number one campaign is (anti) corruption. As if they are not corrupt. They are not corrupt. What do you call corruption? He has a house. You, are you living outside? Are you living in the forest? It’s corruption. In abroad, if a young boy works so hard and buy(s) a copter, we praise the boy. But in Nigeria, if a young boy works so hard and buy(s) a copter, we say he’s corrupt. Why? Why can’t we encourage the young ones to grow? Why can’t we encourage them to do better? We, our mother born us and train us, why they trained us is that we should be better than them. Are we to bring the young ones down? It’s not our portion.”
In unison, the women shouted, “Amen!”

She urged the electorate in the state not to throw away the opportunity of returning her husband to power, saying that a bird in hand is worth two in the bush. Besides, she warned that the opposition was planning to build prisons where she said criminals would to be kept.

Buttressing her illustration with one of her hands behind her, she said, “A bird at hand is worth a million in the bush. Nigerian women, let us shine our eyes. Women of Nigeria, are you ready to go to prison? Are you ready to go and give your father food in the prison? It is not our portion. We reject it.
“Akwa Ibom State is a PDP state. It’s not for expired drugs, because APC cannot heal you, outdated drugs cannot heal you. Let them call it any name. Just like as my husband younger brother (Governor Godswill Akpabio) have (sic) said, they will continue changing name until they will reach (sic) Ebola. And they will call it Ebola.

“You know what Ebola normally do? Although Dr. Goodluck Jonathan has said Nigeria is not Ebola country. So, they cannot bring Ebola to Nigeria because Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan and PDP government will wipe it off. And they will bury it because it cannot stay here at all. So, let them continue changing their name. If they fail this time, because I know they have failed, you will hear they will change their name again. They will change it and answer another name.”

Her many references to prison in the course of her campaigns suggested that Patience dreaded jail. At Ibadan, Patience stated that the APC was planning to send her to prison. But in order to avoid this, she invoked the ‘Holy ghost fire’.
She said, “I want to warn you not to listen to the APC. The APC does not have materials to match what the PDP has on (the) ground. Their candidate was there in governance initially. What did he do? They only sent your fathers to prison. They are planning to even send me to prison. Holy ghost fire! Holy ghost fire! Holy ghost fire! They have nothing to offer.”

As she prepares to vacate Aso Rock with her husband on May 29, Nigerians will still recall how she burst into tears when she realised that Hajiya Nana Shettima, the wife of Borno State Governor, was absent at a second enlarged stakeholders’ meeting on the abducted schoolgirls. The President’s wife burst into tears after she took a roll call and discovered that the governor’s wife and the other people she invited refused to honour her invitation. Before she shed tears, she said repeatedly, “There is God in everything we are doing. There is God in everything we are doing. Those bloods that are sharing in Borno will answer. God will answer. What of two teachers that can tell us that they conducted that exam, do you come with any, Principal? No, too? Na only you waka come? Chai, chai, there’s God, there is God , there is God!’’ And Patience wept.

The wife of the President had summoned the governor’s wife, officials of the West African Examination Council, security chiefs and other government officials to her ‘office’ to seek clarification on the conflicting issues about the exact number of the missing schoolgirls from Chibok. She was, however, astonished that the majority of the officials refused to turn up. This action infuriated her. She didn’t hide her displeasure as she said in anger, “I asked her to come with the principal and parents: she did not turn up till today. She is the mother of these children, I am their grandmother. She should be more concerned and come to her grandma. The police, Army, WAEC, government officials came with a few of their own but no parent was present to tell us their child was kidnapped or among those who escaped. It is because we are pained and crying, that is why I am doing so. Why should I cry more than the bereaved?”

PDP women leaders such as Amina, the wife of Vice-President Namadi Sambo; Helen, the wife of the Senate President, David Mark; and PDP national women leader, Kema Chikwe, among several others, will miss the enthusiasm and fun Patience brings to politicking.

Even her fellow African ‘First Ladies’ are getting set to bid her goodbye as she prepares to quit her position as the President of the African Ladies Peace Mission.
Nigerians are patiently waiting to see if her successor, Aishat Buhari, would surpass the records set by the Rivers-born politician.
