I Miss Kenny Ogungbe’s Fatherly Love -Jaywon
Singer, Olajuwonlo Iledare, aka Jaywon, is still basking in the love he has been getting from fans over his latest single, Joromi.
Speaking with Sunday Scoop about what it feels like running his own record label, Jaywon said, “People always have different opinions but you need to understand that while I was in Kennis Music, I was also spending my money to promote myself as well. It’s just about me doing what I know how to do best. In whatever I do, I always make sure that I give my best, and it has been working for me.
“Truly, there are challenges, but it’s the same thing everywhere in the world. Getting the right people to work with, access to funds, and things like that. However, I don’t really consider those things as serious challenges; I just see them as a phase that I must pass through.”
On what he misses about his former record label, he said, “Kennis Music was a big family where we had about eight artistes and the CEO, who was like a father to us all. I really miss that part; I miss the fatherly love that I got from Baba Kenny Ogungbe. Having lost my dad since I was a kid, I saw a father in him and that’s one of the reasons our relationship worked to that extent.”
I Once Ran Out Of A Burning Hotel To Perform On Stage - Yemi Alade
Talented singer, Yemi Alade, has undoubtedly had a good run in her music career so far. She has been travelling all over the world non-stop for the past couple of years, and her fan base keeps expanding by the day.
It is known that Alade is quite dedicated to her job but many would be surprised at the extent she can go to give her fans a good time.
In a chat with Sunday Scoop, she revealed one of the craziest moments she has ever had before mounting the stage. “I have different experiences both on and off stage. But one I can readily recall was what happened when I was in London. Shortly before the event I went for, there was a fire at the hotel I stayed in, and I could only grab my phone, Bible and the outfit I wanted to wear on stage.
I went from there straight to perform on stage; I didn’t even know what became of the hotel because the fire hadn’t been put out as of the time I left,” she said.
She added, “Whenever I’m on stage, I shut every other thing out. I don’t want to know whatever is happening around me. I’m usually only focused on doing my job and giving my fans a good time.”

Entreprenuer who turned down £90m offer' now forced to sell his house and drive girlfriend's Smart car
An entrepreneur who was rejected by Dragons' Den and claims he 'turned down a £90 million offer for his company' because he believed it was worth £1 billion has had to sell his car and home to keep it afloat.
Marco Hajikypri blames health food Pro Gains business' 80% sales slump on customers hating his "bragging".
He's been forced to sell his £50,000 Audi Q7 - and start driving his girlfriend's Smart car around the streets of Birmingham.
He has also sold his house and is now renting while he ploughs £90,000 back into the business in a desperate attempt to keep it running.
Back in July, Marco rejected a £90million offer for Pro Gains because he believed he could do better on his own.
But now he has told the Birmingham Mail :
"I wish had taken a tenth of that offer now. I've had hate mail, it's been awful.
“Since I went public with my offer, my business has been massively affected.
“I’ve had lots of abuse from people thinking I’m money-grabbing and arrogant, and a lot of customers have stopped buying my product.
“Sales are down by 80 per cent and I’ve had to sell my house and my car.
“I’ve even started selling cheap raw meat to get customers back and get my cash flow going.
“I’m really gutted. I’m driving a Smart car but it’s not a joke."
Marco appeared on BBC's Dragons' Den last year but ended up rowing with the Dragons, particularly Deborah Meaden who believed he had over-valued his company at £2 million and described him as "like arguing with cotton wool".
Marco was determined to prove the Dragons wrong, and within a few months had expanded to three units in West Bromwich and employed 33 people to prepare and deliver 7,000 healthy meals a week to customers' doors.
He claimed the business was worth £16 million, but Coventry multi-millionaire Jojar Singh Dhinsa offered him a staggering £90 million for the company.
However, believing the company was going to be worth £1 billion, Marco decided to turn down the offer. But it was after this that his luck turned.
Marco said: “I think I have been portrayed by some media outlets as a money grabber, which is not true because I’m all about giving back. Last year I donated £4,000 worth of food to the homeless.

“I thought my offer was something to be proud of after Dragons’ Den, but people thought I came across as arrogant. I’ve been misperceived, I’ve worked really hard and slept in my car to get my business off the ground.
“I’m not going to give up though, my goal and vision are still the same and I will keep working.”

OAU Student Commits Suicide Over Poor Grade
A 16-year old 100-level student of Microbiology at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Mercy Afolaranmi, has committed suicide, an official told Premium Times.
According to the school’s Chief Security Officer, Babatunde Oyatokun, Miss Afolaranmi, poisoned herself.
Students and a neighbour close to the deceased also said she killed herself due to poor grade.
“We got a call that one of our students took poison,” Mr. Oyatokun said. “We got to hospital to realise that she mixed rat poison. She gave us the contact of her parents but before they arrived, she already gave up due to the effect of the poison she took.”
A neighbour, Bimpe Oni, in an interview with Premium Times, said Miss Afolaranmi, who lived off-campus at Sabo area of Ile-Ife, died on Thursday, after she took “rat poison mixed with battery extract.”
Mrs. Oni said the late student committed suicide because of “emotional pressure.”
A student, Aisha, who was Miss Afolaranmi’s colleague in the Faculty of Science, said the deceased had ‘E’ in CHM101 (Chemistry for first year students), a reportedly dreaded course for year one students in the science and technology related faculties.
“Mercy often isolated herself in class and looked depressed,” said Aisha. “She told me she had ‘E’ in CHM101 and has been going around unhappy before this incident.”

I'm still paying the price for my past mistakes-Terry G expresses regret
It's no news that in the past, controversy was synonymous with Gabriel Oche Amanyi, aka Terry G. If he was not reported fighting, he would be caught smoking publicly or doing other attention-grabbing things.
But in an encounter with Sunday Scoop, the music producer said he did all that in the past was as a young boy, who was just having fun.
He stated, “I do not like controversies. I was only a victim of controversies. All that I have done in the past that made me controversial were mistakes anyone could commit. I am still paying the price for my past. I did certain things I can never do again. I was a young boy, who was just having fun and enjoying music. My past still haunts me as I speak to you, as I am being judged for those actions. I have done things I am not proud of.”
According to him, pictures on the Internet of him smoking marijuana were taken many years ago. He insisted that one could not find images of him doing such again as he now understands the implication.
He added,
“I am now a scapegoat all because I represented the streets and I was not afraid to show it. I sacrificed myself for the new generation of artistes. All I was being criticised for are those things artistes do freely now and no one talks about them.”
“I have many regrets, which I take as lessons in a way. If I had known better, I wouldn’t have done certain things.
“But I do not think what I sing or say determines who I am. One day, Nigerians will realise that art is different from reality. I made my mother love Patience Ozokwor because she had the impression that she was a wicked woman because of her roles in movies. I made my father love many musicians too. I made them understand that what they were doing was an art.
“Sooner than later, Nigerians will understand that the all the crazy things I do are just for the art; I am an actor. I am yet to do most of the things the new artistes do in their videos, yet people still see me as the most terrible person. In other countries, nobody makes an issue out of those things,” he said
Jonathan Warns Nigerian Students Against Creating ‘Artificial Human Beings’
Former Goodluck Jonathan on Saturday warned Nigerian students to stay away from conducting research into embryonic stem cells, saying the sanctity of humanity must be preserved.
At the graduation ceremony of the first set of graduating students at Baze University, Abuja, Mr. Jonathan said scholars can make human activities become more efficient without necessarily altering the essence of man.
“It appears our classrooms have started creating individuals who function like robots, which is not good for humanity,” Mr. Jonathan said. “Training should not be about efficiency and precision alone; it should also be about character and human dignity.”
The former president said the school had come a long way from the 17 students that were admitted at its opening that year.
While reading from a prepared speech, Mr. Jonathan was lighthearted, yet, serious in urging the younger generation to channel their energy into resolving Nigeria’s multi-faceted challenges.
“The kind and quality of education we offer today will determine how our country will be governed, and how prosperous it will become tomorrow,” Mr. Jonathan said. “This is because as young people, many of you sitting in the classrooms today, will sit in various Government offices and boardrooms tomorrow, to govern our country.”
He warned the students to refrain from scientific endeavours that could put their moral or religious strength into question.
“We are in an age when the talk of artificial intelligence evokes boundless passions, to the extent that our scientists are already tinkering with the idea of modifying human genes to create super humans.

Doctors reveals why you shouldn't use toilet paper to clean feces
Experts warn that toilet paper does little to remove feces and the United States is one country that hasn't improved its sanitation when wiping.
While countries such as Japan, Italy and Greece use bidets in the toilets as a way to keep the anus clean, the US has mostly relied on toilet paper as the norm to keep that area clean.
But doctors say excessive wiping could cause health problems such as anal fissures and urinary tract infections.
Though the suggestion may sound absurd, celebrities such as will.i.am, Will Smith and Terrence Howard have been vouching for baby wipes instead of tissue for years - with Smith even hailing the habit as 'special and incredible'.
Rose George, author of The Big Necessity: The Unmentionable World of Human Waste and Why It Matters, told Tonic why using toilet paper doesn't remove feces like it should.
'I find it rather baffling that millions of people are walking around with dirty anuses while thinking they are clean,' George said. 'Toilet paper moves sh*t, but it doesn't remove it.'Will.i.am said in a past interview with Elle Magazine that baby wipes are what most people should consider using in terms of wiping.
'Here's proof on why people should have baby wipes. Get some chocolate, wipe it on a wooden floor, and then try to get it up with some dry towels. You're going to get chocolate in the cracks. That's why you gotta get them baby wipes,' will.i.am said.Actor Terrence Howard went as far as to say in an Elle Magazine interview that he didn't trust women who used toilet paper.
‘If they’re using dry paper, they aren’t washing all of themselves. It’s just unclean. So if I go in a woman’s house and see the toilet paper there, I’ll explain this,' Howard said.Culled from Mailonline

Italian Man Sentenced To 24 Years For Infecting Dozens Of Women With HIV
An Italian man was sentenced on Friday to 24 years in prison for infecting more than 30 women with the HIV virus, after having unprotected sex with them despite knowing that he was HIV positive, a court ruled.
Valentino Talluto, a 33-year-old accountant, seduced dozens of women via social networks for a decade before his arrest in November 2015. Police believe he had sex with at least 53 women during that time, passing on the virus to 32 of them.
The male partners of three of the women subsequently contracted the potentially fatal illness, as did an eight-month-old infant of a fourth woman.
Talluto often found an excuse not to wear a condom, telling his partners that he was allergic to them, or had just had an HIV test, the court in Rome heard.
He expressed regret for what had happened, but said he did not realise the consequences of his actions.
Prosecutors had urged the court to give him life in jail, saying he had provoked an HIV epidemic. The court rejected this, convicting him instead of "grievous and incurable bodily harm".
Many of the women only discovered they had HIV after they heard of Talluto's arrest and had a test.
The HIV/AIDS pandemic has killed around 35 million people worldwide since it began in the 1980s.

Pictured! Nigerian Charged In Connection With US$27m Citibank Fraud
A Nigerian previously accused of swindling Citibank of millions of dollars was on Wednesday (Oct 25) charged with money laundering.
Paul Gabriel Amos, a 46-year-old Singapore Permanent Resident, was believed to be involved in a scheme to dupe Citibank in New York into transferring US$27 million (S$36.8 million) from an account held by the National Bank of Ethiopia (NBE), the country’s central bank.
The money was wired to accounts that Amos and other conspirators held around the world.
Amos faces nine charges in Singapore - eight under the Corruption, Drug Trafficking and Other Serious Crimes (Confiscation of Benefits) Act and one under the Penal Code for receiving stolen property involving nearly S$2 million.
He has also been charged with three counts under the Road Traffic Act, including for dangerous driving and driving without a licence.
On Oct 2, 2016, Amos’ bright blue Lamborghini was caught on camera speeding and zipping between cars, causing near-accidents along East Coast Parkway. The incident, which was captured by a car’s dashboard camera, went viral online.
ELABORATE SCHEME TO TRICK CITIBANK
The scheme to trick Citibank in New York City took place from September to November 2008.
Amos and his co-conspirators allegedly forged NBE documents and sent them to Citibank, instructing the bank to wire funds from NBE’s account to various accounts controlled by Amos and his co-conspirators, the US Attorney’s Office said.
Citibank wired US$27,167,078 to those accounts before the fraud was discovered.
In October 2008, Amos facilitated the transfer of S$987,526.40 into an OCBC account in Singapore to help a person known as Robert Umohette “retain (his) benefits from criminal conduct,” according to Singapore court documents.
Days later, Amos received S$426,995.55 – allegedly stolen – in a Singapore DBS account. He is accused of transferring S$300,000 to a Citibank Maxisave account, and spending another S$60,000 on “personal expenses” as well as S$31,400 on a deposit for a BMW car, court documents state.
In November 2008, he allegedly used his ill-gotten gains to pay a “supplier” S$280,000, and IT firm Axon Consulting S$2,128.
Amos was arrested in Los Angeles in January 2009 when he tried to enter the US.
According to a press release by the United States Attorney’s Office in February that year, he was indicted “in connection with an elaborate, internationally coordinated scheme … to ‘take over’ an account at Citibank in Manhattan belonging to the National Bank of Ethiopia” to steal more than US$27 million.
Amos is married to a Singaporean, and his two children aged 12 and 13 are also Singaporean. His defence lawyer KR Manicka said Amos is not a flight risk and he was on Wednesday offered bail at S$150,000.
The case will be heard again on Nov 22.
If convicted of offences under the Corruption, Drug Trafficking and Other Serious Crimes (Confiscation of Benefits) Act, Amos could face up to 10 years in prison and/or a fine of up to S$500,000 per charge.
If convicted of dangerous driving, he faces up to one year’s jail and/or a fine of up to S$5,000.
