Jerry Gana, Peter Obi, Fani-Kayode, Appointed Jonathan’s Campaign Directors

The game is about to commence, President Goodluck Jonathan has put up a crack team for 2015. Former minister of information, Prof Jerry Gana, former aviation minister, Femi Fani-Kayode, and former Anambra State governor, Peter Obi, have been named as Jonathan’s Campaign directors.

Others who made the list include former minister, Tunde Adeniran, special duties minister, Kabiru Turaki, former minister of information, Aliyu Umar, former finance minister and senator, Nenadi Usman.

Also named are former Senator Nimi Amange, Emmanuel Imohe, PDP’s national youth leader, Abdullahi Maibasira and deputy director-general of Goodluck Support Group, Prof Nick Eze.

The presidential campaign team headed by a former PDP national chairman, Chief Ahmadu Ali, will be inaugurated by Jonathan on Monday in Abuja, ahead of the February 14 presidential poll.

A release by the special adviser to the president on political matters, Prof Rufai Alkali, said the inauguration will take place at the PDP Presidential Campaign Office, the Legacy House, in the Maitama District of Abuja by 2pm.

The release also stated that the chairman of the Board of Trustees of the PDP, Tony Anenih, has been appointed the national campaign adviser.

Adeniran will serve as deputy director-general of the campaign’s head office, while Turaki and Obi, will serve as deputy directors-general for the North and South respectively. Fani-Kayode will be the director of media and publicity, while Gana heads the campaign’s Contact and Mobilisation Unit.

Aliyu Umar will head the Directorate of Administration and Logistics, while Usman, takes charge of Finance Directorate.

TB Joshua has some good news for you this 2015

At a candle light vigil service held to usher in the New Year 2015 at The Synagogue, Church Of All Nations (SCOAN) in Lagos, Nigerian Prophet T.B. Joshua declared 2015 to be 'the year of good morning'.

In the energetic service broadcast live on Christian television station Emmanuel TV, Joshua admonished congregants on the need to 'worship God in Spirit' in a sermon titled, 'Discovering your real value'.

"Christianity lies in the heart," he told the multitude of worshippers, adding that merely observing religious ceremonies does not signify genuine Christianity.

"No matter what this coming year brings, if you are more of God, your trials are the soil in which your faith will flourish," he enjoined the congregation.

The crowds, including a huge array of foreign guests sporadically waving their national flags, thronged every available space within the sprawling church complex, even spilling onto the adjoining roads.

"If you are expecting a New Year, you must be pure in heart," he stressed, reminding the faithful of Jesus Christ's words in Matthew 5:8. "If not, the troubled year of 2014 will continue in 2015," he warned.

Although Joshua uncharacteristically did not give his yearly prediction, his message conveyed that the troubles witnessed worldwide throughout 2014 would persist in 2015 but genuine Christians would grow stronger through them.

He stressed that the freedom the Bible speaks of in John 8:36 is spiritual not physical, insisting that a 'free spirit,' was needed for Christians to enjoy peace throughout 2015. "This liberation of your spirit is all you need to have the best year," he stated.

"You just need a Word from God to change the course of your life," Joshua continued. "God said I should give you the Word – Good Morning! Instead of saying 'Happy New Year', say 'Good Morning'. 2014 was the afternoon but now we are going to the morning. This Word is anointed." 

The cleric revealed that from henceforth, irrespective of the actual time of the day, Christians should maintain the greeting, 'Good morning', insisting that a spiritual blessing was attached to such proclamation. 

As Joshua led the congregation in prayers, lights were dimmed and candles lit throughout the auditorium.

"Joy comes in the morning. Open your lips and begin to decree this joy to your life," Joshua instructed the congregation.

He then led them in a heartfelt declaration, "My heart is Heaven! Good Morning my destiny, health, business, family, marriage - live in the morning throughout 2015!"

Among the nearly 2,000 foreign guests in attendance at the 'crossover service' were 44 family members of those who tragically died when a building collapsed within the church compound on September 12th 2014.

A Lieutenant Colonel of the Nigerian Army, Kingsley Iberi, is currently down with stroke and paralysis after 14 years of waiting for his entitlements which have not come.

Punch Metro learnt that 63-year-old Iberi, who hails from Igbanke, Edo State, joined the army in January 1972 as a Cadet Officer, having finished from the Nigerian Defence Academy, Kaduna State. His first place of posting was 24 Infantry Battalion in Gboko, Benue State.

Our correspondent gathered that Iberi, who rose to the rank of a Lieutenant Colonel in December 1990, was, however, dismissed from the army in 1998 after a court martial, which his family described as a shoddy process.

He was tried by the army for conspiracy, cheating and impersonation, which Iberi claimed he knew nothing about.

It was learnt that in 2002, Iberi filed an appeal against his dismissal at the Federal Court of Appeal, Lagos, and the court ruled in February 2013 that Iberi should be reinstated in the army while his entitlements from 1998, when he was wrongfully dismissed, be paid to him.

 However, the family claimed that the Nigerian Army had yet to obey the court judgment.When PUNCH Metro visited Iberi on Wednesday, the sexagenarian, who now uses a stand-up lift to stand and walk, said since age could not allow him return to service, the authorities of the Nigerian Army should pay his entitlements as the court had ruled since 2013.

He said, “I was not just wrongfully dismissed from the army, I was made to serve a two-year jail term at a Military Police Cell in Apapa. It was when I came out that I filed the appeal, and the court ruled that both the court martial judgment and the term I served were invalid, and I should be reinstated and paid my entitlements.

“I developed this illness as a result of the shock that my entitlements stopped suddenly and my family would have to live in penury. As I speak with you, my wife sells in Oshodi so that the family can survive. The last salary I was paid was in June 1997 before the hasty judgment. I want the authorities to implement the court ruling and pay me all my entitlements.”

 The Director, Army Public Relations, Brig. General Olajide Laleye, told our correspondent on the phone that the court judgment would undergo some due processes at the army’s legal department.He added that it was wrong of Iberi to have taken his plight to the media because the media neither employed him nor dismissed him.

He said, “It is quite strange that an officer would start talking about what happened to him to the press. Why is the officer going about to complain about what is entirely a Nigerian Army affair?

“If a court has passed a judgment; the court knows how to send the judgment to the Nigerian Army. When the judgment gets here, it goes to the legal privacy. There is a procedure to be followed. The court has already given a judgment and we know what to do in respect of it. The army must follow it own procedures in respect of what the court has passed.”

President Jonathan urges Muslims to pray for peaceful elections as they celebrate Eid-el- Maulud

President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan greets and felicitates with all Nigerians of the Islamic faith as they commemorate the birth of Prophet Mohammed tomorrow.

As they celebrate Eid-el- Maulud  which has fortuitously fallen on a Friday this year, President Jonathan urges Muslims across the country to offer special Jumat prayers for successful and peaceful elections in Nigeria  next month.

The President reassures Muslims and all other Nigerians that the Federal Government will do all within its powers to ensure that the General Elections in February are free, fair, credible and violence-free.

President Jonathan believes that this is essential to guarantee that Nigeria remains politically stable and continues on a steady path to the fulfillment of its peoples’ collective vision of a strong, united and prosperous nation.

The President also calls on all adherents of Islam in the country to seize the opportunity of the New Year and Eid-el-Maulud holidays to reflect deeply on the need for a greater application of the Prophet Mohammed’s teachings of piety, charity, tolerance, justice  and peaceful co-existence with others in the collective effort to overcome current national challenges.

President Jonathan assures the Islamic faithful and other Nigerians  that his administration will continue to be guided by the ideals of fairness, equity and justice for all in its leadership of the country and that on his watch as President, no Nigerian will ever be discriminated against on the basis of religion, ethnicity or social standing.

He reaffirms his personal commitment to working diligently and tirelessly to ensure the successful implementation of the Federal Government’s agenda for national transformation and urges Muslims and all other Nigerians to support the continuation of the present administration’s efforts to build a better nation.

President Jonathan wishes Nigerian Muslims a happy and peaceful Eid-El- Maulud.

 Selena Gomez has sparked anger after posting pictures of herself flunting her ankle inside Abu Dhabi's Grand Mosque on her Instragram account.

A second picture, showing Gomez and fellow musicians Kendall Jenner, Gigi Hadid, Cody Simpson and Shay Mitchell smiling and striking poses has also been lambasted.

Mosque visiting rules strictly ban all 'intimate behaviour' including holding hands and kissing, and states that all skirts must be ankle-length.

Man Born with TWO Penises Releases Tell-all Book

A man born with TWO penises has released a tell-all book about what it's like to live with the extremely rare condition known as Diphallia, or penis duplication.

The bisexual man, who calls himself DoubleD***Dude, came to public attention earlier last year 2014 when he led a Q&A session on Reddit with the immortal line: ‘I am the guy with two penises. AMA (ask me anything)’. And he included photographic evidence.

DDD was born with two 10 inch, fully-functional penises, and claims to have slept with up to 1,000 men and women. The penises are individually able to achieve erection and climax. And he can urinate or ejaculate at the same time.

After achieving notoriety on the online forum, DDD has now decided to reveal more details of his life in an E-autobiography titled: "Double Header: My Life with Two Penises". He spoke to Rolling Stone about why he decided to write the book:

 ‘Before I was ‘DoubleD**kDude,’ no one cared about what I had to say. But since then, I’ve been able to help people who felt alone or lost. I’ve gotten so many messages from people who need encouragement for one thing or another. 

With so much negativity in the world, the ability to bring something positive to the table is a great feeling.’

In the memoir, he recounts the practicalities of living with a condition so rare that only 1 in 5.5 million men are born with it - and even fewer with penises that both function normally. He also talked about his childhood, how he lost his virginity, and a "wild streak of sexual adventures fresh out of high school".

How Oge Okoye Snatched Ex-Husband from Nkiru Sylvanus (Family Source Spills the Beans)

This life ehn. Just when you think you've heard, seen the worst - Tchidi Chikere/Nuella Njubigbo VS Sophia Chikere; Daniel Ademinokan/Stella Damasus VS Doris Simeon; another story comes up and totally blows you away.

It's no longer news that Nollywood darling actresses Oge Okoye and Nkiru Sylvanus are involved in one of the biggest scandals from last year. Nkiru Sylvanus is currently engaged to her colleague Oge Okoye's husband, Stanley Duru. They would have been married by now if not that their story was made public and the couple was forced to pause their wedding plans.

A lot of people are blaming Nkiru Sylvanus, who coincidentally has in many interviews revealed she doesn't mind being a second wife. However, a family source from Nkiru’s camp who knows about the whole affair, has revealed the true story.

The source, who would rather not be named told YNaija:

“It is funny how the media is blaming Nkiru when it is actually a complicated affair. Oge and Nkiru used to be close friends, they met Stanley at the same time in Enugu in 2006.  

Nkiru and Stanley fell in love and Oge the back stabber, knew this yet somehow she
sheepishly let Stanley impregnate her. Nkiru was hurt but she let go of the love of her life for a friend, she didn’t want her to be put to shame and mocked for having a child out of wedlock. So, Oge Okoye and Stanley Duru moved to Amsterdam and got married. 

Of course a dog will always return to its vomit, after having their first son, Oge cheated on Stanley with a friend of his and he paid her back by dating one Dutch lady, Barbara with whom he now has a child, Uchechi, but let’s leave that story for another time. 

They somehow reconciled and she took in again and delivered a baby girl in 2010 but they officially parted ways in 2012, you media people didn’t know that, did you?   

On realizing they were both single again, Nkiru and Stanley reconnected and they regretted letting each other go. They got really close after Nkiru escaped from the kidnappers’ den.'' 

On the postponed wedding, the source said:

“They have done the family introduction already. They were actually planning a secret wedding for December 27 but it has been postponed, they didn’t plan for the news to get out, so that changed everything”.

When asked why the wedding was postponed, the source declined and said

“That’s how much information I can give my dear, Nkiru’s media people are working on a press statement already, everything you need to know will be revealed there”

Contrary to reports that actress Oge Okoye is unhappy with the development, the source claimed otherwise.

“She is not furious, she is not devastated at all. She and Stanley parted ways since and she has moved on. Moreover she has no reason to be hurt, after all she snatched Stanley from my cousin first”

Nkiru has said more than a few times, that she would not mind being a second wife. While speaking on a TV programme months ago, she said:

“ If the situation and the person is good, I’ll go for it. I’ve said it before that if ladies don’t stop this nonsense they call ‘one-man-one-wife’, many of them will get to 40 and still remain single. There are more women than men. Go to churches, the number of single ladies in most cases is three times the number of single guys”.
