PDP Chairman Confesses: Card Reader issue is Not Significant

Contrary to the insinuations by some PDP men that the Card Readers are responsible for their trashing by the APC thus far, the National Chairman of the party, Adamu Mu’azu, has said that the percentage of the technical hitches encountered with card readers during the accreditation is insignificant.

Mu’azu, who was accredited at his home in Boto, said there is no perfection in technology, adding that it's only Almighty God that can be perfect. He rejected calls for the cancellation of the use of Card Reader machines for the accreditation of voters.
PDP chairman said: “I cannot arbitrarily call for the cancellation of the usage of the Card Readers and the Permanent Voter Cards. I know professor Jega to be a successful and courageous intellectual and so far he has done very well.”

Similarly, the member representing Dass/Bogoro/Tafawa Balewa constituency in the House of Represenatives, Yakubu Dogara, said the benefit of the Card Reader and the Permanent Voter Cards far outweigh their disadvantages as it prevented politicians from contemplating rigging in many places.

The Bauchi South senatorial district candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Ali Wakili, who was successfully accredited at the Kofa Pada polling station in Bauchi state, also said the hitches encountered were tolerable.

The Executive Secretary of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund), Suleiman Bogoro, on his part, said the use of the Card Reader has helped in dealing with the problem of rigging and multiple registration as it used to be in the past.

So far, the votes of millions of Nigerians are counting because of the use of the Card Readers.
