Four College Students Gang-rape Female Colleague in Ondo State

Four students of the Adeyemi College of Education, Ondo State, have been arrested by
the state police command for allegedly gang-raping a female student of the institution.

It was gathered on Thursday that the suspects, whose identities were being withheld by
the police, were students in the Department of Business Education. They allegedly raped the
victim, one after another, until she became unconscious.

A police source explained that the suspects were arrested shortly after the crime was
committed at the Oka area of the town and a report had been made to the police.

According to the source, the lady who resides outside the campus of the institution is a girlfriend of
one of the suspects. The source said:
“She followed her boyfriend to visit his friend in the town. Her boyfriend and another
three boys raped her there.”
It was gathered that when the victim was returning to her residence, she collapsed on the road.
PUNCH Metro learnt that passersby rushed her to the hospital and reported the
matter at the Enuowa Police Station.

The Police Public Relations Officer could not be reached for comment, but a source in the command
said they were expecting the matter to be transferred to the headquarters for further investigation.

He also said the victim was receiving treatment at a private hospital in the town. Efforts to
reach the
college’s spokesperson, Moses Akinfolarin, proved abortive as he could not be reached on
the telephone.
