Shocking new footage has emerged showing the moment a black man was shot dead at close range by a white police officer.
Alton Sterling was blasted in the chest as he was pinned to the ground by officers outside a convenience store in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
The officers attended the scene at 12.35am on Tuesday after an anonymous caller claimed a man was threatening someone with a gun outside a shop.
The policemen are seen pinning Sterling down, before one suddenly shouts: "He's got a gun."
The other then pushes his gun into Sterling's shoulder and yells: "Hey, bro, you f*****g move, I swear to God.”
He shoots him "four to six times" in his "chest and back."
The latest footage, filmed by Abdullah Muflahi, the owner of the store where Sterling was said to have regularly sold CDs, DVDs and games, shows the killing more clearly.
In the clip, officers can be seen restraining Sterling and yelling at him before pulls a gun from his holster and fires it several times into the 37-year-old's chest.
The two police officers involved in the shooting, Blane Salamoni and Howie Lake, have both been put on administrative leave, Baton Rouge Police confirmed.
Muflahi, who said he was 2ft away from the altercation, said: "His hand was nowhere (near) his pocket," adding that Sterling was not holding a weapon.
He said that after the shooting, an officer reached into Sterling’s pocket and retrieved a handgun, adding that officers were "really aggressive with him from the start."
Although he said the officers seemed to be "freaking out" after the shooting and were cursing, he heard one of them say, “Just leave him.”
The incident has sparked outrage, with 150 protesters taking to the streets of Baton Rouge on Tuesday chanting, "Black lives matter" and “No justice, no peace”.
