Young Lady Murdered & Buried by Barber after Failed R*pe Bid

The Kano State Police Command has arrested Shamsu Isah, a 35-year-old barber, for the alleged r*pe and murder of a 21-year-old woman, Rejoice Isaac, at the Karkasara Quarters in Kano Metropolis.

Isah allegedly killed her on August 3 and buried her corpse in an uncompleted house at the quarters.

Confirming the arrest, the Kano State Police Command Public Relations Officer, Magaji Majiya, said after Isah was arrested, he confessed and took police to the building were he buried the deceased.

“The suspect confessed to burying Isaac but denied killing her. He had attempted to r*pe her but as she was trying to run away, she was hit by a wood on the head and that led to her death,” the police PPRO said.

“We invited doctors from the Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital to conduct autopsy on the deceased’s body. We are now waiting for the result,” Majiya added.

Punch reports that Majiya noted that the Kano State Police Commissioner, Rabi’u Yusuf, ordered that Isah be transferred from the Special Anti-kidnapping Unit to the Criminal Investigation Department for appropriate investigation and prosecution.

“The suspect is with police undergoing interrogation to ascertain the cause of the deceased’s death.”
