Comedian Bovi reacts to viral Pre-wedding shoot of a soldier and her groom-to-be

Comedian Bovi took to his Instagram page to give his thoughts on the viral Pre-wedding shoot of a female soldier and her groom-to-be that got people talking.

Read what he wrote after the cut...

"I saw this picture and a few others on the blogs today. It was reported as a pre-wedding photoshoot and the characters involved are supposedly an intending couple.
Many have hailed it as creative and that just lacerates my heart because it's obvious we as a people have eventually accepted as normal that which is absolutely abnormal.
A soldier, no matter the posting is ultimately trained for combat. They are programmed for battle. In brighter climes, you will never see a soldier in public. They're either in the barracks or the war front.
I'm suppressing the urge to compare and contrast so I will just ask some questions. Is a soldier supposed to hold a gun or a stick? Is a soldier meant to punish a civilian? Is a soldier meant to assault? Is a soldier meant to obey traffic laws? Is a soldier meant to seize camouflage apparel worn by civilians? Is a soldier above the law? I beg to be informed.
Help wipe off my ignorance. I wish the couple a happy union ! And shout out to the true soldiers out there defending the existence of Nigeria with their lives and the fine officers who have maintained the dignity of this revered profession in the face of this skewed practices!"

Suspects arrested for stealing two bicycles worth N3m, sales them for 10,000

The police in Lagos State have arrested two suspects, Umaru Babangida and John Samuel, in connection with the stealing of two exotic sports bicycles worth about N3m.

According to Punch, the bicycles belong to a resident of Babatunde Crescent, Lekki Phase 1, identified as Osarenkhme Afe. It was gathered that the stolen items, a Scott X10 hybrid bicycle and a giant defy advanced carbon fibre road bicycle, were valued at N1.1M and N1.9m respectively.

Twenty-year-old Babangida, was said to have bought the Scott X10 hybrid bicycle from Samuel and other suspects at large for N10,000.

They were apprehended on October 22, after the case was reported to the police at the Maroko Police Division.

Punch gathered that Afe had come back from morning jogging on September 14, when he discovered that the bicycles had been stolen.

It was learnt that the thieves had crept into the building when a security guard manning it had slept off, stealing the guard’s phone and the bicycles.

One of the suspects, Babangida, told the police that he was initially suspicious that the bicycle was stolen, but decided to buy it after assurances that there was no problem.

He said,
“I bought the bicycle from a man that was brought to me by John (Samuel). I bought it for N10,000 but he didn’t give me a receipt. The man said it belonged to him and that I should not worry.”
Samuel denied the knowledge of the theft, saying he only facilitated the selling of the bicycle to Babangida.
“I met a man on the road and he said he wanted to sell a bicycle. I told him I didn’t have money and took him to my friend, Babangida. I didn’t know it was stolen,” he added.
A police prosecutor, Inspector Philip Osijale, on Monday arraigned the two suspects before a Tinubu Magistrate’s Court on three counts bordering on stealing and receiving stolen property.

The charges read in part,
“That you, John Samuel and others now at large on September 14, 2016, at about 6.30am, at Babatunde Crescent, Lekki Phase 1, Lagos, in the Eti-Osa Local Government Area, within the Lagos Magisterial District, did steal one giant defy advanced carbon fibre road bicycle valued at N1.935,000, and one Scott X10 hybrid bicycle valued at N1.1m, property of one Osarenkhme Afe, thereby committing an offence punishable under Section  285 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.”
The defendants pleaded not guilty and were granted bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties each in like sum by a presiding magistrate, Mrs. M.B. Folami.

The case was adjourned till December 21, 2016.

Gracia, apologizes to man who she claimed threatened to released her 'lesbian sex tape'

Well, according to unfolding reports and the story told by Drea, the girl Gracia supposedly did the 'sex tape' with, there's no sex tape, Gracia was just scared or seeking for attention.

She took to her Instagram page to apologize. Read after the cut....

"My last 10 hours
1. I want to start by appreciating the intervention of my mentors and well wishers about the story I put out earlier.
2. I also want to apologise to City FM for being dragged into the matter because I never said I am a staff of that radio station so that information isn't totally correct.
3. I attended a mediation meeting with Omini in which our exchange of messages was analysed and where he said the video he talked about had nothing to do with nudes but a skit he wanted me to feature in(even though it got me wondering why I'd be interested in a skit). It was brought to my knowledge that i must have infered it was the sex video based on our past interaction. I regret this and apologize to him for any pain my release must have caused him. I also apologize to anyone else hurt by my post. The mediators did show that it was not a case of threat but a miscommunication and misinformation.
4. I have read all sorts of interviews as well twisting the type of content the video was. I stand by what I saw and said but i won't go into further details because it belonged to my past and I know I have been forgiven by God by acting without discretion so I leave the truth about it all to God and the people involved. And I sincerely forgive the trusted friend who shot the video.
5. I want to thank the maturity of the elders that mediated and my mentors and I believe a lot of lessons have been learnt and I will bounce back better from this.
Thanks and God bless you all.

BA pilot suspended after photos allegedly show him performing sex acts in the cockpit'

A British Airlines pilot has been suspended after pictures emerged of a man performing a sex act while wearing women's stockings in the cockpit at 38,000 feet.

Captain Colin Glover, 51, was removed from flying duties after we alerted bosses to a series of sordid images seemingly shot in a Boeing 777 on a long-haul flight. One image shows a leg sprawled over the dashboard while the plane appears to be on autopilot and with the co-pilot’s seat empty.

According to the UK Sun, the airline confirmed yesterday it was probing the images — and whether they were taken feet from passengers mid-flight.

BA said:
“We are taking these allegations extremely seriously.
Twice-married dad Glover — a BA Captain since 1990 — is thought to have denied to bosses the pictures are of him. But he is likely to be permanently grounded if they disagree.
Airline expert Chris Yates said yesterday:
“This is very dangerous if the plane is in mid-flight.“If you are flying, you can fly into serious turbulence.

Bishop Kukah visits EFCC,prays for Obanikoro, Abati, Fani-Kayode

Bishop of Catholic Diocese of Sokoto, Father Matthew Hassan Kukah, today, Monday paid an unscheduled visit to the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission in Abuja, where some top-ranking Peoples Democratic Party officials, are being detained over graft-related issues.

According to Vanguard, he prayed for Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, Femi Fani-Kayode and Reuben Abati, who have been in detention for the second week running.
The priest said ,
“I discussed with some detained suspects like Femi Fani-Kayode, Musiliu Obanikoro and Reuben Abati; and I am quite pleased they are looking cheerful.
“I was also happy with the humility of the acting Chairman who took me round and the way he interacted with the detainees. This is what is important for our country so that nobody takes these kinds of things personal. I am happy I came. “We are all staff of EFCC to the extent that we want a better country and we are doing what needs to be done. We’ll continue praying that God guides you, keeps you safe and ensure that we build a country that we all will be proud of. This country has suffered so much, but we hope and pray that we can bring the suffering and trauma to an end as we collectively fight corruption.”
The revered priest, who was conducted round the facilities by the acting Chairman of the Commission, Ibrahim Magu, expressed delight that the detainees appeared in high spirits despite the discomfort of temporary restriction. He urged them not to be downcast and to see their current travail as divine.
EFCC Chairman, Ibrahim Magu, told Kukah that the work the commission was doing for Nigeria was not personal but geared towards changing the country for the better. Magu also cleared the air on the detention of the PDP top shots, saying that it was not personal.
  • “It is not personal. This is all about Nigeria and making it better. And I think there is a consensus around this,” he said

Igbos Are Their Own Worst Enemies – Orji Uzor Kalu

Igbos who have often blamed the Federal Government for the backwardness in the South East have been told that they have no one but themselves to blame for their woes.

Ex-Abia state governor and businessman, Orji Uzor Kalu, said in the recent edition of The Interview that, “Igbos are their own worst enemies.”

He said many elite in the region are not only selfish, but that they also get their politics wrong.

“Let me tell you,” he said in an emotion-laden voice, “there were more problems between (Bola) Tinubu and (Babatunde) Fashola, than there were between me and TA Orji. But it is the discipline of the Yorubas that kept them at bay. Igbos have no discipline in terms of politics. They are very good traders; they’re good in anything they do, but they don’t understand politics.”

In the interview, described by the Editor-In-Chief of The Interview, Azu Ishiekwene, as “the political equivalent of the ogbunigwe (Biafran improvised explosives),” Kalu illustrated his point with a conversation he claimed to have had with President Muhammadu Buhari, who wondered aloud why previous high profile Igbo appointees had done nothing for the region.

Kalu also spoke on the agitation for a state of Biafra and the travails of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu; his relationship with former President Ibrahim Babangida and former Governor Ikedim Ohakim; the recent statement of former Governor Peter Obi; and allegations that while he governed Abia for eight years, his mother ruled.

Dangote: Nigerians Are Suffering, Poverty Leading To Crimes

Alhaji Aliko Dangote says a lot of Nigerians are living below the poverty line. He noted that this has led to increase in crime. The richest man in Africa blamed the drop in the country’s revenue for government slow performance.

Dangote lamented that more than 100 million Nigerians are poor and that this will lead to increased crime. He stated this at the Executive Course No. 38, 2016 of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies in Kuru, Plateau State.

Dangote said that it was ironical that in spite of the abundant resources, Nigeria was still dealing with serious poverty. His words:

“It is a curious paradox that Nigeria, Africa’s largest oil producer, and the largest economy on the continent, also has one of the highest levels of poverty. “It is estimated that more than 100 million out of a population of 187 million Nigerians live below the poverty line.”

He noted that “youth unemployment had risen to 42 per cent this year, with many graduates roaming the streets of major cities such as Lagos, Kano, Abuja and Port Harcourt in search of elusive white-collar jobs, while for some who were employed, their situation could best be described as under-employment, as they were being underutilised and poorly paid.”

“The spate of kidnappings, intermittent vandalism of petroleum pipelines in the Niger Delta, and the protracted insurgency in the North-East are all fuelled, to a large extent, by the high level of endemic poverty in the country.”

Meet 33-year-old virgin who wants to keep her virginity even if she's 50 and unmarried

This Kenyan woman, Rahab Mugure Nga'nga is among the few women or only person who are still proud of their virginity despite her age.

The 33-year-old commercial service manager has maintained her purity for the last 3 decades and is still going on strong. While speaking to The Standard, Rahab said she has kept her virginity because of her religious belief and desire to please her God.

She said;
"I am a born again Christian and I do not want to offend God with sexual sin, sex outside the marriage bond is sin. I want to have sex, just like the next person, but because I haven't before, it is not a distraction."

She revealed that even though she was involved in two serious long term relationship which unfortunately ended badly, she has remained a virgin

She said;
"My first, which lasted two and a half years, ended because our ideals on sexual boundaries clashed. The second, which lasted three years, ended two months to my wedding date. I rush straight home from work and keep my socialising at zero until these winds have passed. I also avoid reading certain books or watch soap operas and I do not kiss or caress men."
Rahab who has graduated with both a Bachelors and Master's Degree in Marketing says even if she turns 50 without getting married, she will remain a virgin and maybe adopt a baby.

Senator Blasts His Colleagues For Trying To Control of Code of Conduct Tribunal

A Nigerian senator has condemned his colleagues for appropriating to themselves the control over the Code of Conduct Bureau, CCB, and the Code of Conduct Tribunal, CCT.

The Bureau is mandated by law to keep and verify the asset declaration form of all public officials. It then arraigns any public official with questionable asset or asset forms before the CCT.

One of such being prosecuted is Senate President Bukola Saraki who is accused of falsely declaring his asset, running into Billions.

The Senate on Thursday approved a bill, already passed in the House of Representatives, to transfer control over both the CCB and the CCT from the presidency to the National Assembly.

On Sunday, Abdullahi Abubakar, representing Jigawa North West in the Senate, said the decision by his colleagues was self serving.

Mr. Abubakar made the assertion in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria in Birninkudu.

The senator, who said he was away on oversight duties when the amendment was made, stressed that he was completely opposed to the decision.

Suggesting that the senate's amendment is to create a cover for Saraki, the senator said: “Laws are meant to outlive individuals not meant for individuals.”

"People ask me if I have a d**k, Nigerian lesbian speaks out (photo)

Lawrencia Ameh, a Nigerian lesbian has spoken about some of the issues affecting the lives of Lesbian women in Nigeria, including her journey and experiences as lesbian living in Nigeria. Speaking in an exclusive interview with Kayode Gomez on his blog, she narrated how she was taken for deliverance in a church and almost took her own life.

Read excerpts of the interview after the cut

Can we meet you?

My name is Lawrencia Ameh but I like to be called lolo. I am an openly out lesbian. I am a human rights defender and a paralegal.

Tell us about your background – growing up

I grew up in a military home with a very religious mother and an army general as a father. I am the first of 4kids. I also had a very reserved childhood. I have lived in Abuja all my life, I was born in Abuja. I was involved in a lot of sports as a child especially basketball. I have 2 younger sisters and a younger brother.

So you mentioned being an openly out Lesbian. When and how did you discovered/identified yourself?

Well, as a child I always knew I was different, but I couldn’t explain it. I came to terms with my Sexuality during my first  degree in Law at University of Abuja. It came with a lot of personal struggles, but in 2007 I was able to deal with it. I was outted to my family by my brother. My family always suspected I was gay because in secondary school I was suspended a lot for being a lesbian with no evidence of course…. Lol! It was because I had always been a tomboy,  so a lot of people just assume. It was a crazy experience but I got through it.

So do you have any affection/attraction for the opposite Sex?
No I don’t. I did try to experiment but I ended up freaking out. Lol! It’s not my thing.

So how did your family take your coming out and how has it been so far with your family and friends?
Hmmm! It was and still not a good experience.

Can you share some of your challenging experiences?
My relationship with my mum is nonexistent right now, It’s been one hell of a ride, I was taken to church for deliverance. I had to move out of my house, I was beaten by my mum. I lost a lot of privileges from my Family. My dad is the love of my life, so his always going to be in myself, he loves me just the way I am. My mum went to my work place to threatening my Boss, She threaten my friends as well. I was locked in a church for almost 8 days; I was told I had an evil spirit inside me. I was also told I have been delivered of the spirit of lesbianism. I was a lot of drama, I got to a point I almost took my own life. Thank God a friend of mine found me.

You mentioned your Dad is the love of your life and going to be in yourself. Can you break it down?

He has always been very supportive of everything I do; He encourages me a lot to be someone great, He always say am his pride and joy “Blushes”. He always says I shouldn’t let anyone treat me differently because am a woman. He lives here in Abuja. Oh! He is the best father ever. His been a hands on dad, 100%, He is my support system.

How has it been living in an unfriendly environment, in the midst of family, friends and society that doesn’t respect/accept your Sexual Orientation and Identity?

It’s been crazy you know? You walk on the street and people call you Names, ask if you have a Dick, if you are into sports or music. You have people ask you why you prefer women to men. Some men will say if they have sex with you; you will forget about women. You have some calling you an abomination. Some friends don’t want to hangout with you because they can’t be seen with you. Family force you to get married or you will be disowned. It’s been so much to deal with. I got to a point I almost took my own life.

But have you ever faced harassment or assault as a result of Anti – LGBT laws (Religious/Federal)?
No, not really, I haven’t, I was harassed by a law enforcement agent once, but as soon as he found out who I was he let me go, you know how things work in Nigeria. In the aspect of religion I am not religious, so not really, I have only faced harassment from family and friends.

Does it mean that its individuals that are not influential that face harassment from law enforcement agency as regards Anti LGBT laws?

No oh… of course not, it happened just once; Only God knows what will happen the next time. But have I faced law enforcement harassment as regards to the anti gay law? Personally no. I have managed to stay out of harm’s way. I know where to be and where not to be.

So what exactly has motivated you to speak out as a Lesbian?
Like I said before; as a child I knew I was different, I struggled with it a lot, I was humiliated a lot by my very close family members and friends, I went into depression and almost took my own life, I was called a demon, I was told by family members that I was the cause of all the problems in my Family.

When I was in SS2, I was locked in the church for 8days because they were trying to cleanse me of lesbianism. I was beaten by my mum, I was isolated. Depression is common in the lesbian community. A very good friend of mine took her own life because of the struggle of her Sexuality. “My motivation to speak out as a lesbian comes from the pain I felt as a human being”, from losing my friend, from trying to make people understand I was born this way. My motivation comes from trying to tell other lesbians going through what I have gone through that they are not alone and they are not abnormal.

Does your being a Lesbian have anything to do with becoming a Human Rights Defender and a Paralegal?

No not really, I have always had passion for Law, I always wanted to be a lawyer but it surely did contribute to it.
