Barely two week after a five-storey building collapsed at Lekki Gardens,Lagos, killing 34 persons, tragedy occurred again in Lagos, on Saturday, when a building at No 9, Alli Close, Mile 12, partially collapsed and killed a 47-year-old woman, leaving many other residents injured,Some portions of the balcony had caved in, but the residents refused to vacate.
The General Manager, Lagos State Emergency Management Authority, LASEMA, Mr. Micheal Akindele, said preliminary investigation confirmed the death of the woman, and no other casualty.
According to him, the residents of the 18-room-building had been evacuated and the site cordoned off. Meanwhile, the property owner, it was gathered, had been invited to the state Secretariat, Alausa, for questioning.
