The rate at which public officials sleep in this Goodluck Jonathan's government is just too much but that of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Anyim Pius Anyim, is worst. Almost everyone know him!
Do you know that after he was openly cautioned about sleeping anyhow in public by PDP chairman few weeks ago, the former Senate President Anyim doze off again on the day President Goodluck Jonathan inaugurated the National Conference committee in Abuja?
To surprise of those that caught him in the act, Anyim slept for over 22 minutes that President Jonathan spoke to the gathering. Intermittently, he shook his head as delegates clapped in response to points raised in President Jonathan's speech and continue his deep sleep...
In fact, this national conference has been affected by Anyim's sleeping "sickness". Almost everyday, delegates are being caught on camera sleeping comfortably like children while deliberations are going on.
The situation is so bad that one of the delegates asked the Chairman of the conference, Justice Idris Kutigi, to caution journalists against reports on sleeping members. But a delegate from the South-West, Yinka Odumakin, told the conference that it is the members that should be cautioned against sleeping anyhow.
“Instead of doing what we are supposed to do, we come here to sleep, then it is not a bad thing if journalists report that,” Odumakin said.
