A 39-year-old carpenter, identified as Gbenga engaged in unholy act of raping a two-year-old girl in Okpanam, Delta state. The girl who was serious injured was hospitalized in an undisclosed clinic, while the suspect was arrested. Gbenga, who does his carpentering work at the compound of the victim’s parents, reportedly committed the repulsive act when the parents were away from home.
Mr Gbenga’s abominable act was uncovered when the little girl started experiencing pains and was taken to the hospital for medical check-up. Her health was questionable leading to more investigation and Gbenga was nabbed.
Delta state police Public Relations Officer, PPRO Celestina Kalu, who confirmed the incident, said the suspect would face the full weight of the law at the end of investigation.
