Just in: Court stops Adamawa election, Reinstates Nyako's Deputy Governor

The political drama in Adamawa State has entered a new phase. Governor Murtala Nyako had argued that he did not accept his Deputy's resignation letter, as such the man has not resigned according to law. Hence, deputy governor Bala Ingilari went to court to challenge the swearing-in of the Speaker.

Just three days to the bye-election in the state, the court has delivered judgement on the matter. The court ordered that ousted Deputy Governor Ingilari should be reinstated as (acting) governor.

Meanwhile, Governor Nyako's suit challenging his impeachment by the Assembly is still going on.
