Ph.D scandal: New FIRS boss removes degree from Wikipedia page

The newly appointed head of the Federal Inland Revenue Service, Babatunde Fowler, has removed his Ph.D degree from his Wikepedia page.
Following his appointment two days ago, Sahara Reporters had said that Fowler had a fake doctorate degree from a United Kingdom institution, Irish International University.

SR reported that Fowler’s doctorate degree from IIU in May 2007, might have been fraudulently obtained.
According to SR, Fowler had “engaged in desperate efforts to erase the controversial title from the Internet especially on Wikipedia. His biography has been edited on the website of the LIRS while the title of ‘Dr.’ remains on his personal webpage. Seven years ago, a BBC investigation labelled IIU as a fake institution dishing out substandard and worthless degrees to individuals, especially influential politicians and business men from Africa.”

However, it appears that Fowler has successfully removed the entry from his page on Wikipedia, as there is no longer any information about the University.
