Bayelsa: Sylva Winning More Jonathan's Loyalists For Buhari

Few weeks to the presidential election, a former Governor of Bayelsa State, Timipre Sylva, has continued to lobby his former top aides and leading members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state to support the election the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Mohammud Buhari.

Sylva who was pushed out of power by President Goodluck Jonathan, has already won over into the APC, Senator Felix Oboro, a former Nigerian Ambassador to Venezuela.

He also led a team of senior party leaders to a former Special Security Adviser, Chief Richard Kpodo. It was gathered that over 500 party loyalists that included the state chairman of APC, Chief Tiwei Orunimingha, were at the meeting with Chief Kpodo at his hotel in Yenagoa.

Sources close to the meeting said Sylva urged Chief Kpodo to return to the APC fold and unite to ensure the election of Gen. Buhari, thereby ensuring that the change needed for development in the country is realized.

Chief Kpodo, on his part, described the visit by Sylva and the APC loyalists as a positive one.

“He wants me to give my support to his party. And I am yet to give a reply. And I have equally told my supporters all over the state and region to be on standby."
