PDP chairman Sheriff cancels Edo Governorship Primaries

*Appoints His Own Acting NWC Members
*Warns State Chairmwn To Stop Dealing With Makarfi Group
Embattled National Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party, Senator Ali modu Sheriff is not joking at all. He has declared Monday’s Governorship Primaries in Edo State as illegal and a contraption of an illegal care-taker Committee and has urged members nationwide to disregard it.

In a letter to the Chairman of INEC signed by Sheriff and the National Secretary, Prof. Wale Oladipo, the party through urged INEC not to give legitimacy to what happened in Edo and said that the party is going to conduct a proper primary in the state.

Also in another statement, the party released a scheduled congress in Edo State to start from June 23rd to 29th June with the inauguration of Congress Committee scheduled for Thursday. Also in another statement, the National Chairman warned state Chairmen and officers of the party to desist from meeting or having anything with the illegal Caretaker committee as anybody dealing with them is on his own.

1. Mr. Okey Nnadozie – Acting National Organizing Secretary

2. Mr. Alonge-Niyi Dennis –Acting National Youth Leader

3. Mrs. Hannatu Ullam –Acting National Women Leader

4. Barrister Bashir Maidugu –Acting National Legal Adviser.
