Policemen have arrested a 25-year-old man, who specialised in attacking ladies at clubs in Lekki, Victoria Island and Ikoyi areas of the state.
The suspect’s modus oparandi, as disclosed by police, include laying ambush for the ladies, who flood the clubs for weekend relaxation, and attacking them while they are entering or leaving the clubs. Thereafter, he would drag them into his car and zoom off to an isolated area, where he would collect their cash and other valuables.
Vanguard gathered that incidents of such had been reported to the police in the aforementioned areas. However, luck ran against the suspect, identified as Lucky Obaseki, after he allegedly intercepted a lady who had gone to one of the clubs in Victoria Island, in the company of her friends. Explaining how he was arrested, the Lagos State Police Command image-maker, Dolapo Badmus, said:
“Detectives from Maroko Police Division arrested one Lucky Obaseki, who hails from Edo State, while attempting to rob one Igbinosa Evelyn, who went to Bar Club, Victoria Island. “The suspect lured her into his Toyota Camry in Ikoyi, pointed a gun at her, collected her ATM card and pin, and withdrew N70,000. “The suspect was trailed and apprehended by detectives, led by the Divisional Police Officer, Maroko, Isah Abdulmajid. On interrogation, he confessed to the crime, adding that he specialises in robbing young ladies, who go to clubs within Lekki, Victoria Island and Ikoyi to enjoy themselves.”
Badmus said the suspect had been charged to court.
