A credible source has revealed to SR that Senate President Abubakar Bukola Saraki secretively filed a case that was assigned to Justice Ibrahim Buba to get an order stopping his trial at the Code of Conduct Tribunal.
Saraki sought to get the order from Justice Ibrahim Buba, the same judge who gave perpetual injunction to former Governor Peter Odili to help him escape justice for his alleged massive looting.
Unfortunately for Saraki, the secret move was busted by security agents. Consequently, his plot was foiled as an Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, lawyer surprisingly showed up in the courtroom.
EFCC lawyer was said to have told Justice Buba straight that he couldn't proceed with the order. The lawyer told Justice Buba that all the defendants had not been served the notice and urged him not to grant any orders, reminding him that the public was watching the case closely.
